Should I dye my hair?

I have medium brown hair, and last year, a hairdresser dyed the underneath part (in sections) bright bright red. I loved it looked really good. I have since not done anything to my hair and those once red pieces are now orangish. Went to the salon yesterday (different stylist) and decided to get the same thing. She told me she would cover all the orange parts with red. She did a horrible job (i think she was new) didnt put enough red in, and didn't cover all the orange, so i now have orange and red highlights. i think it looks terrible. Now i'm not even sure if i want the red underneath, i think it might make me look really young (i'm 22). So I'm considering going to the drug store today and buying a box of dark brown dye to cover up the red and orange. Should I do it? and would it even cover the salon highlights? Thanks.

It should cover the red/orange highlights, BUT if the stylist screwed it up, call the salon and tell them you want them to re-do the color for free. Most salons will guarantee their work for like 2 weeks and let you come back for a touch up if necessary.

Doing it at home might make it look worse, and if you do that before you have the salon fix it, chances are they will charge you again.

If you want to color your hair all back to dark brown, I'd add five to 10 minutes to the time it says to leave the coloring in your hair. I had blonde highlights in my medium brunette hair, and I got tired of them and colored my hair back to a dark brown... But I can still kind of see where the lighter sections of my hair were, because I didn't allow the color to set enough.

If you want to be sure, go to a good salon (NOT a cheap chain) and tell them what you want to do and let them color your hair.

how about just grab yourself a red hair dye (wine red or maroon shade) and dye the orange parts yourself? it takes a lot more work to bleach your hair again when it's darken then covering your horrible highlights with a darker shade.

first check out in a different saloon from an experienced stylist....take her advice and only then go in for colouring ur hair.gud luck!

Get manic panic in red color you like and put it on the orange to even out the red.
