I'd say it'd be nice to have a veil for a traditional ceremony, but a head piece with a beautiful up do is always gorgeous, too.

It all depends on what the bride wants. It's her big day, afterall.

Veils are just traditions - so that the groom can't see you until your father / person wallking you down the aisle lifts your veil. So no they dont HAVE To be worn, but personally I like them, I think its romantic and beautiful and special. But I'm just a big romantic at heart :)

Well, I'm pretty sure they don't, because Ive been to lots of weddings where they don't-I think its just a traditional thing partly, or some people just prefer the look. But I think that, no, you don't have to, and it can often look just as pretty, or prettier, if they don't! I'm sure that, if your getting married, whatever your bride wears will look beautiful!

not at all! veils stemmed from 2 things: when men would kidnap their brides they'd cover their faces so they couldn't scream, and from medieval arranged marriages, so the groom couldn't back out if he thought the bride wasn't attractive. in medievl times, most brides wore their hair down, as a way of showing they were pure (married women wore thier hair covered for the most part) and to symbolise marriage, they'd put on a crown of flowers after they said i do. i'm doing this since i don't like veils much, but the point is it's up to you!! that's the great part about YOUR wedding...it's all up to you.

Dear, you wear what you want. Flowers are pretty. A tiara is seen alot. Some head peices are beautiful. A tiara and headpiece are pretty. Go for it. It is YOUR day.

I don't think so at all! I won't be wearing one since we're having an informal wedding on the beach. Of course, if you're wearing an elaborate gown with a cathedral length train, I would reconsider since it might look a little out of place to have just a head piece. These days brides can wear whatever they want!

You don't have to wear a veil if you don't want to. When my cousin got married she wore her hair in an up-do, put a very small tiara in front of her hair and a veil in the back. It looked gorgeous. Personally, I don't plan on wearing a veil on my wedding day.

no, not really its just really traditional. I am wearin my moms that we re-worked so it will be modern and not 1970's, but I am wearing it at the back of my head so it really won't cover anything, and plan to take it out as soon as we leave the church to go to the reception cuz it DRIVES ME NUTS! maybe thats wierd, but i can't stand how it feels, I feel like I need a haircut terribly or something! I understand wanting to skip it so do what you want!

THe only reason I'm wearing one is because I think it's pretty. It's a cathederal length weil, I'm wearing it with a tiera, but I'm not wearing a blusher. That's the veil that covers your face. I cannot stand those things personally, I felt like an idiot standing in the bridal store wearing one while 3 David's Bridal women %26amp; my mom tried to convince me how great it was. I won, of course. :)
