I have a lot of breakage in my hair. what could have caused this, and how can i treat it?

my hair is sort of wavy so the shorter pieces stick out and are frizzy in the back. my stylist said i had a loooot of breakage. what can i do?

I have a lot of breakage in my hair. what could have caused this, and how can i treat it?

causes: blow drying, gel, chemical treatments, heat styling tools, bad hair care habits

treat it: cut all the dead ends

prevention: a good diet will make your hair healthy, which includes shine, silkiness, softness, strength, and manageability.

vitamin e is good for the hair

it is moisturizing

and vitamin a

is good for the scalp

and healthy hair growth

protein makes ur hair grow faster than anything else because

hair is basically made of protein

so

eat eggs.. and dairy products

yogurt, milk, soymilk, and tofu are great examples

citrus fruits are also good for the hair.. and seaweed has a lot of vitamin a. vitamin a can be found in leafy veggies and carrots, especially. it is important to drink enough water to keep ur hair hydrated. 8-10 glasses is suggested for healthy hair growth. also, iron plays an important role in maintaining and growing healthy hair. iron brings oxygen to the hair, allowing it to breathe like us basically

(not the same way obviously)

and so if u dont take enough iron.. ur hair will be starved of oxygen and lose its shine, luster, etc.

b vitamins are also great for the hair. salmon, coldwater fish, and sardines are great fish that contain many of the vitamins hair needs.

i hope this information helped you!!

if you wash your hair in really hot water, that sometimes causes it. also bad shampoo %26amp; conditioner. try using a more moisterizing conditioner for a while (and colder water to wash it in... you don't have to freeze yourself out tho :D )

Hair Breakage can be caused by excessive heat(blowdrying, curling iron, flat iron)as well as not enough moisture in your hair.

Try a leave in conditioner and deep conditioning treatments. Also,be aware of the temperature you use on your appliances. If high heat isn't absolutely necassary, avoid using it.

Also,a healthy diet and vitamins can be useful and get trims regurally to avoid split ends/breakage.

Hope I helped! :)

Few tips

Be more gentle when you brush it.

Brush your hair before you wash it as if you brush the knots out while it's wet your hair snaps easier.

Get split ends trimmed regularly

Squeeze excess water out of hair in between shampooing and conditioning. Your hair will absorb the conditioner more.

After washing and conditioning give your hair a rinse with cold water. It will make it smoother.

The cure for hair breakage is pretty easy. Such as combing when wet, running your fingers through your hair, or constantly putting it up in a pony and then taking it down multiple times a day.

do you bleach or lighten it?

do you wear a tight ponytail alot?

these things cause breakage, try giving yourself a real good deep conditioning treatment, i have always used nexus keraphix (it's a re constructor) leave it on overnight (put your hair in a shower cap) and you will see a big improvement the next day

blow drying your hair too long and straightening it will do that, it happened to me...but i used Vive for color treated hair and it turned really healthy

There are alot of reason that your hair can break that you would never even believe. Perms not rolled properly, wearing a pony tail all the time with an elastic band, sleeping in a ponytail, brushing or combing your hair while it is wet with a close tooth brush or comb. Using a pick until it is dry or a large tooth comb is the best way to comb wet hair. I hope this helps you.
