Can hair cut itself?

Everytime I comb my hair tiny hair pieces fall out. They are my tips. Is this a good or bad thing? Is my hair going to get shorter?

Can hair cut itself?

I had the SAME problem because I was wanting to grow my hair out about 2 more inches but it wasnt getting longer and when I would brush it little pieces would fall out. This is accumulated damage from straightening, which is causing your hair to get weak and brittle. This is a bad thing because it causes hair to look ratty and ungroomed. My advice to lay off the straightener for a while, get your ends trimmed, and when you do have to straighten it I reccommend this product

It saves your hair from damage, frizz, and breakage.

Try using this shampoo from Garnier Fructis for stronger hair.

Hope this helps!

Ah! I have the exact same thing! Do you straighten your hair? I was wondering if it might be connected to that

go and get a trim. No hair does not cut itself but when its damaged it does fall out.

EXACTLY what KELSEY said she stole the words from my mouth!!

Can hair cut itself?

My hair is the exact same!

Im in the same position with curly hair, I get mine straightened too. I dye, straighten and chemically treat my hair. I asked the hair dresser whats wrong with my hair and it's going through too much 'stress'. She said that I shouldn't dye/straighten heat style or anything for 2 weeks and use deep restoring masks every 3 days. I did this during my holiday, you should try it too because my hair has stopped breaking alot.

my hair does the same thing. i straighten it every day.i have pieces about an inch long that fall off the tips from straightening it too much. i asked my stylist and she said when split ends get that bad your hair just breaks off on its own. it really needs to be trimmed. its a sign that the tips of your hair are dead.

Can hair cut itself?

This is a bad thing, you lose a lot of hair naturally when it falls out from the roots, but if the ends are breaking off it is going to give you split ends which are not good news.

It can be hard to prevent split ends, but the only real cure is to have them cut off.

Keep the hair well conditioned, don't tug at tangles - be nice to your hair! Don't be too rough when towel drying etc.

Your hair won't really get shorter but you will find it won't grow over a certain length due to the breakages and that the hair is finer towards the ends of the length.

Well it seems like your hair is either going to too much stress or it's seriously damaged. It's not supposed to fall out like that! This is a bad thing. lol. Try leaving for hair natural for 2 weeks ( not using any heat) and deep restoring treatments/masks every 2-3 days!

The ends of your hair is overprocessed, burned and will break off when you comb it. This is a bad thing. You don't want to lose your hair. Actually, the perms are not good for your hair. If you can get a shampoo and a nice cut of your natural hair, I believe that would be better.

hi im a hairdresser you said you were having it straightened ever 2wks thats why your ends are damage the ends dry up and start to snap off if you like it straight only have it done with a dryer not straightners all the time cause your hair will get worse talk to who is doing your hair about it .i would try a new salon if i were you.
