I have slightly blonde highlighted hair and want to go back dark. Will it work?

Ok, I had a wild hair a couple months ago and added highlights to my dark brown/ black hair. I didnt get a whole lot of them in the back or underneath, but I have more around the face. Well, I want to go back to my dark hair and was wondering if it would go all black or have some lighter pieces?? Would it look ok??

I have slightly blonde highlighted hair and want to go back dark. Will it work?

I do this phase every year. I put highlights in during the summer and I cover them over and go back to solid dark brown during winter. It comes out good at first, but the places where the highlights are is where they lighten up faster. The second time you dye your hair again it works so much better. It won't be a huge difference, and you might be the only one to really notice unless you point it out.

I have slightly blonde highlighted hair and want to go back dark. Will it work?

It would probably be a slightly different color where the highlights are,

I have slightly blonde highlighted hair and want to go back dark. Will it work?

Yeah it should look fine even if it does have some highlights, if you really dont want to have any light pieces get it professionally done by a hairdresser and they'll cover it perfectly!

I have slightly blonde highlighted hair and want to go back dark. Will it work?

I'd probably have to suggest that you get your hair professionally done. A stylist will fill the highlights with the natural red pigment that everybody has in their hair and then she/he will color after that. That's the only way you are absolutely guaranteed to get the result you want.

If you try doing it yourself with a boxed color, you may end up with highlights that turn a greenish shade, or just any off color.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

I have slightly blonde highlighted hair and want to go back dark. Will it work?

I dyed my highligted hair a dark brown (natural color). It turned out good except over time it fades out and becomes just a darker shade of the blond highlights.

Hair stylist messed up my hair!!! What to do?

I went to get a cut and blonde highlights in my light/medium brown hair. I had it last summer but my stylist wasnt there because she had a baby....so today I went to a new one and asked for the most experienced stylist....... and she cuts it fine (a little shorter than I wanted originally).....but then when she highlighted it...it was like 4 streaks of platinum blonde on top with large 1-2 inch pieces of brown inbetween.

I made her fix it by highlighting in between to have less brown chunks... and she ended up making the whole top of my head (except a streak or so) platinum blonde. The other lady I used will be in next week supposedly. But I paid $100 and sat there for 3 hours.

What should I do or say if I were to call them about it? Will they let the other stylist (the good one) redo it free? If so... what should I do with this platinum blonde top layer....just ask for a dark blonde color on my whole head instead?

Hair stylist messed up my hair!!! What to do?

they probably will let you do it for free. if not, jsut buy some dye at the store (make sure it's good dye!) and dye the brown back where you want it. ask ur mom or someone to help though, and never do ti yourself. or, you can try a new color. good luck! =D

Hair stylist messed up my hair!!! What to do?

I don't know what they'd do but I'd tell them what happened to see what they can do about it and know the bad job that stylist did.

Hair stylist messed up my hair!!! What to do?

When she was done you should have asked for your money bcak, because it was not what you wanted.

Hair stylist messed up my hair!!! What to do?

get a medium bolnde toner....they will do it for you and if you tell them that the girl didnt do what you asked for they should fix it for free. thats how fantastic sams does it... try it... my mom works there.but if it's some other place idk if they will fix it for free...

Hair stylist messed up my hair!!! What to do?

Is it at the same place or did you go to a completely new salon?

If its the same place call and say you werent happy with how your colouring turned out and ask if you can have the girl you usually have fix it when she is back.

If its a completely new place I would either just never go back or go in and ask for another stylist to fix what they can.

Hair stylist messed up my hair!!! What to do?

hi im a hair stylist.

she sould have to do it again for free. i wudnt go for a full head colour u probs need a full head of low lights. if you dont want the blonde as light you need to ask for a toner all over it as well to get rid of the brightness. good luck. be stern but be nice. you will get more with sweet with bitter x

Hair stylist messed up my hair!!! What to do?

I think you should ask if they'll get the good stylist to do it for free. Also, you should tell all your friends never to go to that salon, and if they do, Never let (her name) do their hair. Youre doing them a favor.

Hair stylist messed up my hair!!! What to do?

complain and get your money back.

Hair stylist messed up my hair!!! What to do?

they should do it for free. but if no t dont waste your time on them. Just go to the store pick up the best most expensive hair dye and do it yourself. It's hard depending on someone else to do your hair.

Hair stylist messed up my hair!!! What to do?

When you go to a reputable salon generally their policy is to make the customer happy. If you are unhappy with your color contact the salon and let them know what the problem is, most likely they will not charge you again to fix your hair. If they do charge you, I would suggest finding another salon in the future.

Hair stylist messed up my hair!!! What to do?

You should not have paid her.

I use Jessica/Ken hair clip on hair. I have a hard time putting it in but all I want is a long pony

I find lumps and a messy in the look when I pull the fake hair into the ponytail. Should I consider a clip on ponytail instead. What is the difference. I have very fine hair and is about shoulder length. Has anyone ever heard of POP: Put On Pieces???

you can just put a regular elastic in to get a ponytail!

How can i straighten/fix my hair?

i am a 18 year old white male. i have pretty longish hair and i've had long hair for years. my hair is very straight, except one little piece on the right side in front of my ear. it flips out and looks pretty retarted because the rest is straight, how can i make it go away besides using a straightener?

MSPAINT DIAGRAM: http://i7.tinypic.com/21mztb6.jpg

How can i straighten/fix my hair?

just use a straightener! they're pretty cheap and totally worth it. like my hair is to my shoulders and i have side bangs. well all of my hair, except my bangs, is totally straight so i went out and bought a straightener to fix it. it works like a dream and it's quick to do since i don't have to do my whole head. just go ahead and get a straightener you won't regret it. well now that i think of it if you don't want a straightener then get your hair cut like other guys have theirs and it'll take care of that problem. those are the only ways to fix it that i can think of.

How can i straighten/fix my hair?

How to improve wavy hair and straighten it

http://www.askaquery.com/question/How-to...

How can i straighten/fix my hair?

Separate the hair into four or five clean sections, detangling each with a wide-tooth comb before clipping all but one of them to the head. Blow-dry the loose section, pulling it taut toward the floor with a large round brush and rolling it either under or out at the ends. Keep the blow-dryer's nozzle a few inches from the brush at all time, directing it down to the floor to keep the cuticle flat and smooth. Repeat with the other sections, rolling some under and flipping some out at the ends so that the hair doesn't look too uniform.

Haircuts to make my hair look thicker...?

I have straight, fine, blonde hair. It's pretty long. I want to get it cut so it will look thicker and like it has more volume.I would like a cut/style about 3 inches below my collarbone, and with lots of layers and some choppy pieces.

But does anyone have and haircut ideas that will make my hair look thicker?

Haircuts to make my hair look thicker...?

unless you are blessed with really thick hair, your hair will look less thick if you don't keep the ends trimmed regularly. that is the first thing that always makes a difference with my hair. second, as far as achieving a "chunky" look to your layers, use some kind of a molding paste or wax and kind of work it through your layers and the pieces you want to be "choppy". your layers will also look more chunky or

piece-y if you get them trimmed often. and last, if you have fine hair, it is naturally going to look thinner the longer you let it grow. cutting it to right below your shoulders will help it look thicker. there are volumizing products you can use, and also blow drying your hair with a big roller brush, or upside down will help achieve some volume.

Haircuts to make my hair look thicker...?

They have shampoo's out now to make your hair thicker. Ask your hairdresser what kind of shampoo would be best for your hair.

My hair is curly and straight.?

My hair seems to be curly and frizzy at the bottom, but straight and not so frizzy at the top (from the ears up). The very front pieces are the frizziest and I guess they're curly to the top, but the rest really bothers me.

I like straight hair and I like curly hair. I would love to have either one, 'one' being the key word. It's a really dramatic change, too, and could in no way be construed as good-looking in its present state of indecision.

I have tried spending a really long time scrunching and diffusing and using curling gunk (I don't think it was gel, maybe serum) My attempts were fruitless

How can I rectify this? I have addressed the possibility that the length of my hair is weighing down the curl, but my hair has often been this length yet I've never really noticed the problem

I know people's hair changes sometimes, but my hair already went from straight to curly when I was 10. Now I'm 15 and my mom's curls (whose mine most closely resemble) lasted till she had kids

My hair is curly and straight.?

Your hair sounds like mine-- I have some straight pieces, some wavy pieces, some curly pieces and some like.. bent pieces! It's ridiculous. I used to try to fight it and go straight all over but any ounce of humidity and it starts freaking out. I would suggest a) dont wash it but every other day so it doesn't get dried out and fluffy and b) use simple velcro rollers on dry hair to get STYLED loose waves. i just started doing that and it looks really good-- i tried it on wet hair because i thought it would hold better but it just gave me SUPER tight springy curls which was a little much. Annnd just set it with a light spritz of hairspray. gooood to go.

My hair is curly and straight.?

Get a straight perm. You hair will become silky instead of frizzy.

My hair is curly and straight.?

What's the question?

And what does rectify mean?

My hair is curly and straight.?

hi

My hair is curly and straight.?

My daughter and I have the same issue. My solution has been to keep my hair fairly short and layered. My daughter has her hair in long layers and the seems to suit her. I opt for the curlier look, she likes to straighten her hair a couple of times a week.

If you truly want only one or the other then get either a curly perm for the straight hair or find a salon that does the straight perm.

My hair is curly and straight.?

Wear you're hair short?

My hair is curly and straight.?

It's weird with me too. My hair is naturally curly near the bottom and it's naturally straight at the top.

I just use a gel and it makes it look wavy. Sorry if I didn't help, but that's the best I got.

Highlights in black hair?

i just dyed my hair black...but i want to get highlights....what color highlights will look good...and will it be easy to do the highlights or willm i hbave to get the pieces bleached and then coloredd?...and alos...how long after dying my hair do i have to wait to get highlights?

Highlights in black hair?

Chestnut or caramel would look nice.....but just mainly around your face.

Highlights in black hair?

I would not dye your hair blonde highlights cause that looks really bad...I have blonde hair and died most of it pink a few months ago- it fried my hair a lot...if i were you i would wait a little till you do highlights...I would put a red or dark brown, that would look cool (or thats what I would do) I cant dye my hair black cause i have very fair skin and i would look bad...but red highlights is what i would do.

And just a tip for your hair- it will help if your hair is fried; when your hair is dry you put lots of conditioner in ur hair and leave it like that all day then later rinse it out

:)

Hope this helps :)

They definately will grow back.. Unfortunately it will take some time. Sorry, I didn't catch if you were male/female (your name isn't displayed once I have already responded) However, if you are a female, then I would suggest a fringe (or if you're in the states I believe they call them bangs!) A really cool look is to dye the really short bits a contrasting colour to the rest of your hair and then have longer wispier bits over the top. So if you're blonde for example... Dye the short bits chocolate brown and throw in some slices of brown foils here and there to blend it in. Or the opposite if you're a brunette. Obviously, it's hard to grasp how much of your hair she has cut this way without a photo, but I hope my suggestions do come in handy! good luck

Hair grows at a rate of 1/2" a month. You do the math. A hair band might be in order, or hair gel.

I have a hair problem the lady cut my hair and i have only inches of hairs at the front of my head!PLEASE HELP

OK first of all take a little olive oil and smooth the front hairs down, you can also use a strong gel. If that donent work take as much hair in the front as possible and pull it to the side across your forehead and put a pretty clip in it spay the hell out of it with hair spray or strong gel. or you could buy a pretty scarf like Paris and Nicole were and put it in the fron and tie it in the back until it grows out. Your hair will grow out just fine!!!!!!

How to trim awkward layers while growing hair out?

ok, so i cut my hair in may really short into a "concave" jaw length bob. starting at the shortest point in the back, it tapered down and got longer in the front. now it's grown out, and the layers just don't work anymore. i want to grow it out and end up with a normal shaped, longish hair cut, with a V shape in the back (with the front pieces shorter.) i need to trim it though, and take out a lot of the bulkiness, cause the layers are getting weird lumps and flips in them. any suggestions on how to trim the minimum amount possible, while trying to gradually get the front shorter than the back?

How to trim awkward layers while growing hair out?

when you go to your hair stylist they should be able to tell you what the best way is to do this. when i grew my hair out my stylist used a razor to remove the bulk and i still had cute layers. then as it grew out she would cut the bottom layer off to make things more even.

How to trim awkward layers while growing hair out?

part it in layers start in the back of front and part hair srtaight across and trim this may take a while

Very fine hair!! Help!?

My hair is extremely fine and its driving me crazy! It is a bit longer than a bob and I am struggling to do anything with it - I just end up wearing it up all the time or curling it to add more volume. I don't want to get it cut short because I always regret it. I have clip in extensions for nights out but does anyone know of any good products or tricks that will thicken it up? When it is up in a ponytail the hair is the thickness of a 5p piece its so fine! (It never used to be this fine, although it has never been thick it has thinned out over the years).

Very fine hair!! Help!?

Mane n Tail shampoo and conditioner.

omg. ever since i used it my hair has been growing! and thickening!

then once a week i use Bumble and Bumble Thickening Shampoo. a next door salonist came over to me and said "do you want this? its a free valentines gift from me" and i said thanks! and used it once a week along with mane n tail and my hair is thicker. bumble and bumble is about $8 a bottle, and same with mane n tail.

Very fine hair!! Help!?

I have very fine hair too - I often have to twirl hairbands round 6 or 7 times to get then to fit so I know how you feel. Have you tried putting mousse on your hair when it is damp and then blowdrying it upside down? Curling your hair is a good one but it can get boring and tedious to do. Have a look at some of the newer volumising mousses out now - good luck hope you get it sorted.

Very fine hair!! Help!?

take prenatal vitamins it will help your hair and nails grow better also try to cut your hair in layers it will add volume

Very fine hair!! Help!?

buy a thickening shampoo from the hairdressers is a good start.if you have layers put into the hair it gives the image that it is thicker eg chunky layers.try not to blow dry or straighten it to much as this will make your hair dry and damaged.

Very fine hair!! Help!?

ive heard toppik (or topik?) is good... look for it on ebay... or bite the bullet and go for the transplant... $2000 for a permanent fix might be worth it!

Very fine hair!! Help!?

Use a volumizing leave-in conditioner or mousse. Loreal makes some good ones. While your hair is damp, comb some through your hair, then bend over so your hair is towards the ground and blowdry it using a round bristle brush and the warm setting on your blowdryer. Don't use too much product as it will weigh down your hair, and don't use an extra hot blowdryer as it will have the same effect. Finally- don't over brush/comb your hair or play with it.

Very fine hair!! Help!?

i also have fine hair and i found that having a gentle soft perm helped mine, i also had it layered that helps aswell, i wash mine then use a mousse conditioner on my midlenghts and ends only (not on roots or scalp)which preverts an overload of conditioner that can make hair greasy and limp, blowdryer my hair upside down to lift the root area, then straightenen my hair (using a heat protecting product) just to my midlenghts and ends as my root area is already lifted, this gives my hair a fullier look. it sound long winded but only takes max 20 mins start to finish. i hope this helps you.

Very fine hair!! Help!?

My hair is very fine too, but I use a thickening mousse on it just after I've washed it and that makes a difference, it seems to give the hair more body. Your hair is not quite long enough to be able to stay up if you put it up, you need another couple of inches to pin it up properly; however, there are a lot of great grab-clips that can tie it away from your face.

Go to a Claire's Accessories if you have one in a nearby shopping centre - they have a brilliant selection of hair ties, clips and bands and I have always found their assistants very willing to try the clips on your own hair, so that you can see if it suits.

Good luck.

Very fine hair!! Help!?

There are lots of products available to spray on to increase the diameter of the hair. But id start by taking a supplement, to work from the inside. There is a one which is available called Nourkin, which contains marine protein, and other natural ingredients. The results are very impressive and it is reccommende by doctors and dermatologists. You can find this online,or health food shops, or Boots chemists.good luck.

Frizzy wavy hair, but not to the extreme... side bangs? i could use advice.?

I have angled dirtyblonde hair. It's a little past my shoulders and I don't have bangs. My hair get's pretty frizy after I take a shower. It's not like the extremelly frizzy/wavy hair. It's mostly kind of wavy with a little frizz on the shorter pieces that fall around my face. It really doesn't look good though. I was thinking about maybe getting side bangs but I have just enough frizz %26amp; wave that they would look horrible. Last year I got straight bangs, and when my hairdresser cut them they looked nice wet, but once they dried, they frizzed up, so they were too short. It was humiliating. When I straighten my hair it looks pretty good... but I find it hard to straighten my bangs. If you have any suggestions about how to help the frizz problem then please tell me. Also If you think I should try long side bangs, then if you have any advice how to keep them looking good, please share your knowledge. Thanks so much. =]

Frizzy wavy hair, but not to the extreme... side bangs? i could use advice.?

Choose a hair stylist experienced in curly/dry hair.

Have your hair stylist help you choose a hairstyle that is easy to maintain--preferably one that just requires a wet-and-go approach.

Once you have your favored style, visit your stylist at least 4 times a year to trim split ends.

Don't let your hair stylist use a razor to layer your hair (although layering is good.) Razors contribute to split ends.

Don't wash hair every day. This kind of hair needs the natural oils from your scalp to reduce frizz.

To upkeep your desired style, just wet hair with some conditioner on non-washing days (rinse thoroughly).

Avoid using hairdryers unless necessary. Blowdrying hair dries it out. If you must use a hair dryer than make sure you use a diffuser.

Believe it or not, grease, mousses and gels make caring for this kind of hair harder!! Chemical build-ups require more washing than is healthy.

If you must use products, use high-quality, health-food store or salon products that leave little residue.

Do not brush, unless you want a 'fro.

Love your hair! Many are envious of the regal quality of curly hair!

Hope this helps~

Frizzy wavy hair, but not to the extreme... side bangs? i could use advice.?

My hair is Frizzy to and espeically after a shower. The best way to keep my frizzy down is to never blowdry it and after my shower i spray an infusseum frizzy control spray it works great.I too want side swept bangs but i am gonna get um cuz they can always grow back.

Hope i help! Report It

umm if ur hair is frizzy use john friedas frizzeaze and there is products u can buy at a salon that help straighten ur hair

Frizzy wavy hair, but not to the extreme... side bangs? i could use advice.?

i think you should probably not cut side bangs cause it only really looks good wheb probably

professionaly done. I have sort of the same hair and used to have bangs and wheb they dried they would curl u[p

Frizzy wavy hair, but not to the extreme... side bangs? i could use advice.?

If you have wavy or frizzy hair and want it straight permanently, I would try doing a relaxer. You could have a professional do this or you could buy a do it yourself kit at home if you feel comfortable doing that. I did this myself using a perm kit like you would buy to curl your hair. I put it on and instead of curling I combed it out strait. Just follow the timing directions on the box. Also, I wouldn't try the bangs unless you get your hair straightened.

Frizzy wavy hair, but not to the extreme... side bangs? i could use advice.?

My hair is to my mid back, and also is more likely to frizz and wave. I just got longer side bangs that i love love love. They are long enough to tuck behind ear. I also straighten mine. I have found that Boilage Haircare works best for me.

Frizzy wavy hair, but not to the extreme... side bangs? i could use advice.?

I have the same problem, it helps alot to use Vive Pro By loreal! Try it out there products are great

Frizzy wavy hair, but not to the extreme... side bangs? i could use advice.?

talk to your hairdresser and ask for a good frizz control

and instead of getting long side bangs

just get short or long layers

good luck!

Frizzy wavy hair, but not to the extreme... side bangs? i could use advice.?

try long side bangs straightened. that will make them not frizzy, and easy to straighten. leave the rest of your hair natural and it will look really cute. or you can straighten the rest of your hair too

good luck

How can i dye my hair brown with blonde spots?

I've died my hair before, but never 2 colours on my own. I dont have the money to goto the hair dressers. Anyways.. I want to dye my hair somewhat a brown color, and have blonde (very light blonde) spots. I was told you couldnt bleach dyed hair. So how would i do this? Would i put foil on the pieces i dont want blonde, dye it all brown. then put the bleach where the foil was?

Yes?no? how do i do this :S

Use those thin black hair slides cause theyre like nearly invisible and look quite cool.

Hair...PLEASE answer?

put the bottom in like hair pins or clips and only do half of you head...or you can put them in seperate pony tails and then combined them

Hair...PLEASE answer?

just use a pretty hair clip that matches yo outfit everyday and clip it up... it actually looks nice...

Hair...PLEASE answer?

You can spray or pin the pieces up or leave them hanging or add a bit of curl to them.

Hair...PLEASE answer?

that happens to me too and i pin my extra peices up with brown or black bobby pins or i just let mine fall cuz i think it looks cool when that happens good luck!!! : )

Hair...PLEASE answer?

bobby pins head band, or let if fall, it is sexier to have your hair naturally let out whispies, people look to fake with plastered hair.

Hair...PLEASE answer?

What you should do is get some cute hair clips or barettes or bobby pins and clip your hair so that its attached to your head. And if your like me and have some really short frizzy pieces on your hair line, get a toothbrush (preferably not the one you use to brush your teeth) and put some gel on it. Then brush back the frizzies and spray a little with hairspray. Sound high maitenance, (did I spell that right) but it works really well.

Hair...PLEASE answer?

Mine does the same thing. Leave 'em down! It's kinda a cute casual looking pony tail.

Hair...PLEASE answer?

I would just leave it, it's just a pony tail, not formal or anything like that. When you wear your hair up like that people are going to know that you are trying to be casual, when you clip those up you look like you are trying too hard.

Hair color advice? Please help?

Hi i have partial beige highlights and they look terrible! They look brassy after a few days. either they are done too chunky and they look stripey or they are too thin and I dont see the color boldness. When they do partial; they do not take much into my hair as far as thickness, like when I want to put my hair in a barrette in middle they dont do enough highlights or the pieces they do highlight I cans see my dark brown roots. Please help would an allover beige blonde be less maintenance than a highlight! I keep telling different stylists to get close to root but they don't maybe they are afraid of color bleeding but either way it shouldnt look like I need a touchup right away Please advise, thanks!

Hair color advice? Please help?

You need to get to a really good colorist and get it fixed. The best way to do that is to ask every woman you see who has their hair done CORRECTLY who does their hair. Pretty soon you will see a pattern and get to the colorist. The women won't mind, they will be flattered, and you will have your fix. We have several where I live, and you really are getting second rate work to have this much problem! They may color your whole head and start over, but that would be better than what you have!!! I know they all have tricks of the trade and some have been to special schools offered to beauticians to learn this stuff. Some just mimic and HOPE they are doing it right. Start asking women in shopping malls, walmarts, etc where you see a lot of women. Do research for the sake of your hair!

Frizzy wavy hair, but not to the extreme... side bangs? i could use advice.?

i think you should probably not cut side bangs cause it only really looks good wheb probably

professionaly done.

Frizzy wavy hair, but not to the extreme... side bangs? i could use advice.?

talk to your hairdresser and ask for a good frizz control

and instead of getting long side bangs

just get short or long layers

good luck!

Frizzy wavy hair, but not to the extreme... side bangs? i could use advice.?

try long side bangs straightened. that will make them not frizzy, and easy to straighten. leave the rest of your hair natural and it will look really cute. or you can straighten the rest of your hair too

good luck

How do I work with my hair and not against it?

I hate my hair! It is naturally wavy, poofy, frizzy, it curls in some spots and wavy in others. Some pieces flip out and some flip in! I usually let it hair dry and then straighten it. It takes forever and i end up having to go over it again throughout the day if I can. What can I do with my hair to wear it more naturally? Any suggestions? Instructions would help. Thanks

How do I work with my hair and not against it?

OMG...i hear ya! I to have INCREDIBLY thick hair and just as yours its wavy in parts and curly in others. On humid days or rainy days it just frizzes like crazy!!! I HATE THAT!

I usually take my showers at night and let my hair air dry. I have been told by many hair dressers that if you have hair like ours its best to take showers at night and AVOID BLOW DRYING it b/c that just makes it worse. Plus, b/c of hair being so thick,it dries out easier...i dont know about you but mine dries out really bad in the winter time!

Most women dont have our problem. Most women have thin hair or not to thick of hair. So, they can manage it and keep nice a soft! They are also told only to condition their hair once a week. For OUR hair you need something that is going to be a deep conditioner..and actually the best conditioner you could use is probably a leave in conditioner! I was also told to conditon my hair at LEAST every other day.

Im not sure how you wear your hair but my hair is just a little bit past my shoulders. I have learned that if i wear it in LONG LAYERS it looks GREAT! Thicker hair is best worn longer. AND LAYERED if its REALLY THICK. Also, when they cut your hair ask them to THIN IT OUT! They can do this! As a matter of fact, every other month i go in to get my hair thinned back out. I dont do it overly to where its thin...i do it where it looks GOOD. By doing this, it will take care of your issues with straightening it. I to straighten my hair so it looks better and i can do more with it. But before i layered it and thinned it out i couldnt get it to straighten properly. When i did get this done...my hair looks GORGEOUS!

Also, NEVER highlight or dye your hair. When people have hair like ours their hair dries out easily and hair dyes do this anyway so its just going to be 10X worse on our hair. Plus it makes your hair fall out and as much as i would love for my hair to just thin out on its own I DEFINITELY DONT WANT IT TO FALL OUT b/c of something like that!

So, what i can tell you is that when i layered my hair and thinned it out and grew it out longer it looks so much better!!! AND I LOVE IT. I always use a flat iron on it!

Oh yeah, with the shampoos and conditioners always opt for the ones that make the hair SMOOTH AND/OR SLEEK. Makes your hair soft...actually, ive been using FRUCTIS. Its good and SUAVE..the one in the orange bottles. Get the shampoo and conditioner seperate. These are the only rinse conditioners i would recommend. If you use anything else be sure to make it a leave in conditioner. And to help the frizz suave has this stuff...its in an orange bottle as well (goes along with the shampoo and conditioner). Its called SUAVE SLEEK ANTI FRIZZ CREAM and it works VERY WELL and it doesnt take a lot. So use it sparingly! The good thing is is the SUAVE products are VERY CHEAP and work so WELL!

GOOD LUCK!

How do I work with my hair and not against it?

get a good ceramic straitner!

How do I work with my hair and not against it?

You could use natural gels and oils that help add shine and keep your hair in the position you want. I have curlyish hair and it can get very frizzy! I use coconut oil and a shine spray and this non-sticky gel in the morning and all that stuff usually keeps it looking pretty good for the whole day. Um I stopped using a normal brush and just switched to a wide tooth comb with helps tonz for hair, or for me at least.

Good luck and hope i could help,

anna

How do I work with my hair and not against it?

i have the same exact problem!

i hate my hair. i even got a relaxer put in my hair..it definitley evened the waviness in my hair, but it is still frizzy. i straighten it and i dont know what to do either.

How do I work with my hair and not against it?

Oh no try not to straighten your hair when it's completely dry! It might dry out your hair and make it brittle if you do that too much.

Instead, you should consider getting a heat activated straightening product to put in your hair before straightening/blow drying (some products you might want to take a look at: http://www.salonskincare.co.uk/product_i... This way your hair also stays straighter for longer! If you want specific instructions on how to straighten your hair, you could go see the detailed wikihow article, I put the link as the source :)

But if you want your hair not completely frizzy but not too straight either, then maybe you could try just using straightening/anti-frizz shampoo and conditioner?

How do I work with my hair and not against it?

well after u find a style you like - you kind of need to be consistent with it to train your hair to go that way - I still have this perm in my hair but not much - but every morning I use Infusium leave in conditioner (I put in a spray bottle)...to wet my hair a little then use chi volume booster and thermal protector and blow-dry my hair - just quickly- then put in hot rollers and then I am done...add a little Chi silk infusion and your set for the day

Hair burn smell...........?

Ok my iron wasn't that hot but i flat ironed my hair our just for today i don't do it everyday. I want to know how do i know if i burned some of my hair off........ like does it necessarily always have to smell? or do you notice pieces coming off onto the flat iron??? What others ways can I tell if I burned some of my hair??....it wasnt even that hot. Although I do have very fine hair.

Hair burn smell...........?

The smell of burning hair is so horrible, the nose can detect it at as little as 0.002 ppbs so you would easily know by smell if hair is burning. In fact the smell is so strong, the Israeli army is trying it as a non-toxic riot control agent that is safer then tear gas.

(Despite many claims of tear gas being non-toxic truthfully it is mildly toxic as some people have died from it and that it forms cyanide in the liver)

Hair burn smell...........?

sometimes it doesnt have a smell but most of the time it has a awful noticable smell you. it stinks really bad and the smell lingers

Hair burn smell...........?

Another way you can tell if you burned your hair is that it will look like you crimped your hair... It happend to me once, it took forever to grow it out, cuz there was nothing i could do about it, it just looked like i crimped my hair... one of the most awful times of my life!

Hair burn smell...........?

It doesn't always have to smell. If you find tiny, curled hairs that are in your hair and look burnt, then you've burnt your hair. Run your fingers through your hair after straightening it. If some straight strands of hair come out, that's normal. But if there's some burnt-feeling tiny hairs coming out, that's not good and you should discontinue using a straightener since your hair is so fine and thin.

Hair burn smell...........?

the smeel is one way to know if it is burning you hair and the other ones are that your hair are like sticking to the straigner that only happens if you have hairspary in you hair or mousse gel an d other porducts

adice: wash hair blow dry them and then use a straiging spary that makes your hair straight like the herbal essense one (danousyly straight) anad straigtnen you hair if you hair are already kind of straight then just turn your straigners power down like at what power your straigtning you hair at hop that helps

Hair burn smell...........?

The fact is you don't know!!!

I had fairly long hair ( for Afro hair) and it was in good condition but I started to straighten it everyday.....not a good idea!

By the end of the year my hair was shorter not longer and the hair was different lengths. So I decided to go for a funky shorter length that didn't need to be straightened...... as much.

But I decided I was too much of a straightener addict and decided to go for extensions and straighten them instead, at least I don't feel guilty and damage my hair.

My advice if you have Afro hair, straighten your hair as LITTLE as possible

xxx

Hair burn smell...........?

I agree with clinique try to avoid straightening it as much as possible and I use a ceramic curling Iron. I saw a girl use a gold plated curling set and burn her hair to the point the entire section of curled hair broke clear off onto the curlers. The burnt hair was singed beyond recognition and the smell was horrible. When i straighten my hair with a ceramic curling iron because I sue a heat protective sheen and conditioner it acutally smells great and doesnt sizzle when it touches my hair. Try CHI ceramic irons as well as their heat protective products And yes Chi products and Irons are good for African American hair.( I love chi)

Help my daughter hair please..>!!!!!?

My 12 year old daughter has severe matts in her hair all the way down to her scalp. Her her is just below the shoulders normally. Right now all of it except a few end pieces are in a massive matt. She has been wearing her hair back in a ponytail for the past week so nobody would know. I dont know what to do other than shave her head %26amp; i dont want to have to do that. I have tryed to work from the ends to try %26amp; loosen it up, but it is too bad...HELP PLEASE%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;

Help my daughter hair please..%26gt;!!!!!?

try hair conditioner first, try hot oil treatment, go to sallys and get cholesterol its real thick and slimy it should work. Just rub it in and work with the matt to loosen it.

Help my daughter hair please..%26gt;!!!!!?

shave the poor the girls head and bye her wig!

Help my daughter hair please..%26gt;!!!!!?

wait, whats a matt?

Help my daughter hair please..%26gt;!!!!!?

the problem sounds pretty bad. maybe you should try to talk to a hairdresser. they will deffinitly be able to help.

Help my daughter hair please..%26gt;!!!!!?

Go to a salon

or you can get her to wash it out and then go from there, after she washes her hair is should be easy to deal with because it is wet. Then part her hair in four parts, if her hair is thick then it will hurt a little, its only four parts, then braid it. After you braid the four parts then take out one of the braids then comb it out. After you got all four parts combed out then take her to get her hair braided, or you braid her hair. I'm 12 too by the way

Help my daughter hair please..%26gt;!!!!!?

Take her to a salon and have them shampoo and condition it. Be prepared for a LONG appointment and tip the hairdresser well for taking the time to be gentle.

Help my daughter hair please..%26gt;!!!!!?

you need to go to a salon

Help my daughter hair please..%26gt;!!!!!?

They have some detangleing spray at the beauty suppy store for little girl's hair, Give that a try.

Help my daughter hair please..%26gt;!!!!!?

as someone already said, take her to a salon, they will untangle it for you. if you dont mind me asking, how did she get matts in her hair??

Help my daughter hair please..%26gt;!!!!!?

Paul Mitchell Detangling condtioner or his leave in Dentangler will work you can buy it at sally's beauty supply store they also have a "genric form" that works just as good

Johnson and johnsons has a new shampoo out that is working great on my daughters hair it has Dentangler in it also if you can't find any of these go to the dollar store and buy Kids Dentangler Spray and soak her hair in it and start at the bottom, and just keep brushing out all tangles/ matts, while working ur way upwards untill its all gone

only way to do it is sit and comb/ brush them out

and make sure she combs/ brushes her hair properly every day so you don't have to deal with it again - my daughters a great one for only brushing the top layer then when i go to do it the under layers are knotted, tangled and matted up bad

Help my daughter hair please..%26gt;!!!!!?

Omg Poor Girl how did that happen i feel so bad for her im not all that sure what to use but my dad used to have dreds and he used to use a flat brush with the loops i cant remember what its called but you use them when you have a weave good luck

Peace é–³?Love

Help my daughter hair please..%26gt;!!!!!?

ummm i think if u dont no wut to do juz take your daughter to a salon or a haircut place were she usually gets her hair cut but if they r gonna cut it juz say no n take her somewhere else that wont shave her head.

hope i helped

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!

Help my daughter hair please..%26gt;!!!!!?

Use a good heavy conditioner. Maybe even one of the packets that they sell at a beauty supply store (the ones used after hair color treatment). They usually cost under $2

Put that in and let it sit for a few and then while the conditioner is still in the hair try and work threw the matted hair. Good luck

Help my daughter hair please..%26gt;!!!!!?

Try some olive oil or Mayo and a wide tooth comb - it won't damage the hair.

Otherwise, if it is that serious, it sounds like you will have to take her to get a hair cut.

Help my daughter hair please..%26gt;!!!!!?

you can take her to a salon or get a big comb and do little by little start from bottom and go up to the top!!

Help my daughter hair please..%26gt;!!!!!?

DO NOT SHAVE HER HEAD!!!!!buy some really strong detangling spray wash her hair with some conditioner [strong]and spray her with the detangling spray [lots] then part it into like 4 parts and work on it ...itll be worth it ...

Help my daughter hair please..%26gt;!!!!!?

Oh wow, whatever you do, DON'T try to shampoo it because shampooing tangled hair is only going to make it worse!!! I say just work on trying to loosen up the tangles. Get a wide vent comb/brush and gently comb out her tangles. I know she's young, so the pain of pulled hair when combing is going to drive her insane, but its only for the better so that her hair can go back to it's normal state. I would suggest taking your time, make it an all day thing to fix her hair. It is possible! Trust me, majority black people get tangles in their hair always and we just try to do our best by combing out all the tangles as much as we could by hand because if not, it'll just get worse when the hair is wet or we'll have to cut! So I suggest you get a good wide vent brush...

Help my daughter hair please..%26gt;!!!!!?

I have read the other comments and I'm the only one who disagrees. I have heard that getting the hair wet is the worst thing you can do. It just matts the hair even more. Try combing it out very slowly. My best advice is to at least call a salon and ask them. They would be the ones to ask. Good luck and please don't shave her head.

Help my daughter hair please..%26gt;!!!!!?

Okay mom, breathe deeply for me for a minute or sixty okay? Now, she's had these tangles/matts for about a week, right? Well the first thing you should do is find out if there is ANY kind of foreign substance IN the matts/tangles themselves first off. If there is something there, find out what. You're going to need to then use a hair care product that will soften her hair whilst adding strength to it. There are about a dozen different ones out there to choose from by the way. From the sounds of it all though, I would suspect some door knob of a prankster put a glue of some kind into her hair. Find out what kind BEFORE you go any further. Most Elmer's glues will come out in fairly warm water after a good soaking. There are two different Elmer's that are for wood working that won't because they're water-proof. If it's "super" glue, a good hobby shop will have a product to dissolve and loosen up the stuff. It's called cyanocryilicat(I may have the spelling wrong, sorry) remover and is used on most things like wood, plastic and some fabrics too. When you get the stuff out, you'll need to give her hair some serious T.L.C. and hot oil treatments to help it. If that doesn't work, well as depressing as it will be, hair DOES grow back if you have to shave it all off of her.

Help my daughter hair please..%26gt;!!!!!?

Jennifer First know that some twelve year olds need training on how to keep the hair from knotting up you MUST start at the ends, and work up to the roots, otherwise, you are taking one knot and pushing it to

the next one, and making it worse. you don't have to shave it, cut the hair about six inches long using a creme rinse

or a lemon in a Glass of warm water will help, and please remember start at the ends and work your way up.teach her what you learn,so it doesn't knot up again.after the knots are out you will have to go over the cut again,as the knots come out the hair will have some long ends,so re-cut it ...good luck

good luck and have patience

Help my daughter hair please..%26gt;!!!!!?

I don't understand how this would happen overnight, but what you need to do is wet the hair and heavily condition it. Then, get a spray bottle and use a one to one ratio of fabric softener and water. You will also need a wide tooth comb and a small toothed comb. Start by working at the ends of her hair with the wide tooth comb, and carefully comb out. Spray the fabric softener/water whenever and where ever it is hard to comb out. Once you have reached the top of her head with the wide tooth comb, go back and comb through again with a small toothed comb. You can do this, but it will be very tedious and time comsuming!

Help my daughter hair please..%26gt;!!!!!?

wet her hair and don't shampooh it, go to the store and get a Deep Conditioner try sallys or a beauty supply store leave it on for hald hour on her wet hair then wash it out in cold water. Then spray a detangler or a leave in conditioner on her hair and start in sections working from the bottom up. No need to shave her head this should work. Worth a try...

Scene kidd hair styles??

okey dokey.....does anyone know what kind of hair cut/what styling products i can buy/how to fix my hair like a scene kidd kinda look?? like...not the mullet w/long pieces or anything tho...I was also wondering if anyone has tried a reverse mullet w/the shorter hair under the longer, %26amp; if so how did it look and such....sooo ya. my hair isnt too long or anything and its layered....any suggestions??

Scene kidd hair styles??

you have to use alot of hairspray and gel, and you have to tease your hair when you want that volume in the back, get alot of picture in buzznet.com and type in scene ot scene queen. you ahve to get layers and cutt it choppy

Scene kidd hair styles??

in order to create the perfect scene look, cut your hair yourself. and don't be precise. then use a good deal of backcombing, hair wax, gel, etc. to give yourself volume.

that's how the people i've seen do it. you also might try heavy bangs.

Should I perm my naturally curly hair?

After haivng my baby last year, my naturally curly hair has begun to look fuzzy and unatttractive. There are some pieces that are very curly and others that are straight. I have heard that perming your hair can make the curl more uniform. Is this true? I'd like a nice bouncy uniform curl. I don't have time to use rollers and such at home. I just like to scrunch and go. What would you recommend?

Should I perm my naturally curly hair?

Do Not Perm!!! I thought I'd get rid of frizzy curls by getting a perm. Instead of having frizzy curls when the weather was damp, after the perm I'd have frizzy limp curls. Same story when I tried straightening it.

Better off to go to a hairdresser and have a good deep oil/conditioning treatment to restore your hair shaft. Tip: If your hair is at or below shoulder length, twist it up on top of your head in a bun at night and it will brush out into uniform curls/waves in the morning. I even do that instead of setting when I shampoo because of arthritis in my shoulders (I can't set my own hair any more), and I get a nice curly wave when it dries.

Should I perm my naturally curly hair?

never never never never never never never perm when you have natural curly hair. go to this site and learn to love your hair!

naturallycurly.com

Should I perm my naturally curly hair?

NOOOOO!! u'll regret it in a month when you have to keep going back to get it permed again %26amp; then in a yr when ur hair is fried!! %26amp; plus getting a perm will make ur hair straight since u have curly hair

Should I perm my naturally curly hair?

you can buy a curl shampoo if you want to make it more curly, but I wouldn't go with a perm, you have natural curly hair!!!! Good Luck!

Should I perm my naturally curly hair?

I wouldnt you wont like it after a month or sooner dont do it

Should I perm my naturally curly hair?

well, u can but it will stay for a long time

Should I perm my naturally curly hair?

NO! Sorry i dodnt mean to shout but plz save yourself a life time of guilt . From your description of your hair type it sounds a lot like mine and i had the same problem you have no time and not the perfect hair so i did the perm and i wish i hadn't everday, you will have frizz fried like hair and you cant reverse the process it has to grow out and you dont need that after having a baby, and also perms dont give you the bouncy curls you want it gives you tight small curly fries hair so dont do it stick with gel or mousee and style it yourself.. Good luck with the baby:)

Cutting my own hair !?

Why Why Why would you want to cut your own hair. There are salons out there that will help you to find a great style that you are looking for and be there for you to help you along the way with your hair. You wouldnt go to Walmart when you fall down and need a doctor, why would you want to cut your own hair. Go to a professional for the sake of the people that have to look at you.

Cutting my own hair !?

Pull the top layers up first and work your way with the bottom, making the sides EVEN. Then when you get to the top layers, pull them to the top of your head and cut them together, then let them fall back down to their natural spot..Bangs.. pull to the front, cut straight across and they will angle themselves if thats what you want in the hairstyle.

Scene hair cut? And scene hair color?

I want to get a scene hair cut, but I want something that looks good on my face, I have a roundish face and want a hair cut and hair color that looks good!

Hair Cut: I want something that is deffinetly scene looking but not too short, but not to long (my hair only goes shoulder lengh)

Hair Color: Now this is the hardest thing, I want to get a mixture of colors that look good! Right now my hair is dark blondish with roots of REALLY dirty blonde, and teal tips in the front. I want to do something blonde really blonde, almost white, but then again I want to do a mixture of different colors (wheather the colors are real hair colors or not doesn't matter) but as long as it ISEN'T BLACK WITH BLONDE FRONT PIECES I'll be ok... I was thinking of color like this: http://photobucket.com/mediadetail/?medi... but I'm not sure.

I have straight, sleek hair so whenever I try and put my hair up it takes forever because there are always bumps or pieces coming out. Is there an easier way?

How can you put your hair into a ponytail without there being any bumps?

How can you put your hair into a ponytail without there being any bumps?

what i do is throw my hair down then grab a piece and then put it in a pony tail but not yet in the actual rubber band tied. then just brush your hair back and then tie it. hopefully it works

How can you put your hair into a ponytail without there being any bumps?

Use a spray bottle while you comb it back

How can you put your hair into a ponytail without there being any bumps?

I flip my hair over and brush it while I am gathering it into a ponytail, it works for bumps in my hair. You can also put some hairspray in it before you start ot style it, just make sure you work quickly before the hairspray dries completely!

OMG are you serious, chicken in the hair? Honestly if it is your friend, I would be honest with them and tell them that their personal hygene is not the greatest and say it that your not trying to offend them, just help them.

My friend at work smells nasty and I found a piece of chicken in her hair.... what should I do?

My friend at work smells nasty and I found a piece of chicken in her hair.... what should I do?

Yikes! I don't know if there's anything you can do but tell her in private, and be really nice about it. This is an embarrassing and awkward situation for both of you. Maybe find out why she smells so bad...did she get some nasty perfume? Does she think she doesn't need deodorant? Does she have awful breath? Does she wash her hair about once or twice a week? Some people just don't know how to take care of themselves, and a gentle pointer could help out a lot.

And I'm sorry, a piece of chicken in her hair??? LOL! That is pretty funny...

My friend at work smells nasty and I found a piece of chicken in her hair.... what should I do?

If she was really your friend you wouldn't be asking us what you should do. How would you feel if your friends let you walk around like that? True friends tell each other the truth.

My friend at work smells nasty and I found a piece of chicken in her hair.... what should I do?

just tell her the truth.....just be like i don't mean to offend you in anyway. I'm going to tell you this because i care. you smell bad and the other day i saw that you had some chicken in your hair. I'm just telling you this as a friend i would never want you to embarrass yourself. She might be a little hurt or in shock at first but at least she'll know you were being honest. ........just look at it this way. have you ever had something in your teeth? And was really embarrassed and kind of upset that know one told you before. just think of how she feels. well do what ever you want hope everything works out for you.

love Penelope

My friend at work smells nasty and I found a piece of chicken in her hair.... what should I do?

Just take the chicken out of her hair, and tell her to go wash her hair!

My friend at work smells nasty and I found a piece of chicken in her hair.... what should I do?

give her a gift of like body washes, smelly stuff. then if she has stuff in her hair be like, haha, you have something in your hair! joke about it though. it wont make her feel as embarrassed. she will most likely say, crap! i do? then help her get it out...after she has washed her hair... [:

Gum in my hair: any good ways to get it out?

I don't have a whole wad, just a little piece clumping a little chunk of hair together.

Does anyone have any ways to get it out before I use scisors?

Gum in my hair: any good ways to get it out?

I was a very hairy kid. As a joke my brother and his friend put a big wad of chewing gum on the back of my leg while I was sleeping. We ended up pulling it off bit by bit and eventually I had to shave a portion of my leg to remove all the gum. After the fact people began to give me tips on how to remove gum from hair. Some that I can remember were using peanutbutter, oil, and butter. My sister always used two ice cubes, and its always worked. Anyway... here's the methods:

Peanut Butter Method

If the gum is in a small amount of the hair, just apply peanut butter or all over the area and mix it in until it comes out. Then just take a shower to wash out the peanut butter.

If the gum is spread out, use more peanut butter, or if it is not near your scalp, use ice.

Ice Method

Ice it for about fifteen minutes and it should have hardened enough to just take it off.

Cold Cream Method

Apply cold cream to it. It will disappear quickly.

Vaseline Method

Fill your hair with vaseline.

Spread the vaseline around the area of the gum.

Take a wide tooth comb and comb the gum and most of the vaseline out of your hair.

Gum in my hair: any good ways to get it out?

peanut butter, works every time just make sure you wash it after

Gum in my hair: any good ways to get it out?

i heard that if you use like peanut butter or something like dat it'll help you get it out.. or etter yet.. just try to use sissors....

Gum in my hair: any good ways to get it out?

peanut butter

Gum in my hair: any good ways to get it out?

Mayo.

Gum in my hair: any good ways to get it out?

try something slippery such as olive oil or mayonnaise. then, i would resort to scissors!

how the hell does penut butter get gum out? that doesn't even make any sense! sticky %26amp; goey... gets sticky %26amp; goey out? no.

Gum in my hair: any good ways to get it out?

try mayonaise, or peanut butter.

Gum in my hair: any good ways to get it out?

This site has alot of good helpful tips for removing gum from hair.

Gum in my hair: any good ways to get it out?

I haven't tried it but I've heard that mineral oil can help you to gently work it out of the hair. It'd take some time to do because the oil has to get between the gum and the hair bit by bit.

Gum in my hair: any good ways to get it out?

Peanut Butter , or Ice will work

Gum in my hair: any good ways to get it out?

Definitely use peanut butter

Gum in my hair: any good ways to get it out?

just cut it!

Gum in my hair: any good ways to get it out?

well supposedly rubbing peanut butter right over the gum will help it come out. but i prefer using ice a little ice will harden it and u can just break it out of your hair. with out pain and it usually works just fine that way.

Gum in my hair: any good ways to get it out?

well, isolate the bit of hair that is captured by the gum, and use any of the following:

goo-b-gone

turn air in a can upside down and make sure it doesn't hit your skin

or get a nice little product that removes gum from floors by freezing it, which is the same thing the air in a can upside down does.

that or you can try to freeze it out. put icecubes on it and when it's frozen enough try to pull out as much as you can

Gum in my hair: any good ways to get it out?

Peanut butter and wash out afterwards. or just try scraping out with fork or somethin

Gum in my hair: any good ways to get it out?

Gojo hand cleaner with lanolin is the best thing I have used. (I have raised 4 children in case you were wondering .) Any hand cleaner with lanolin will work. The lanolin makes your hair soft. I used to use Downey fabric softener on my hair when it was shoulder length. It works better than conditioner!

Gum in my hair: any good ways to get it out?

I'd hop in the shower...use warm water, then use a bunch of soaps to loosen it up and eventually slide it out

Gum in my hair: any good ways to get it out?

peanut butter

Gum in my hair: any good ways to get it out?

Definitely peanut butter!

Gum in my hair: any good ways to get it out?

peanut butter

Gum in my hair: any good ways to get it out?

Well, my mother used to put some floor cleaning liquid called lestoil. It worked pretty well. Also try the peanut butter, I've never done this but think about it, if it doesn't work just eat it and you'll at least feel happy and peanut-buttery. I love peanut butter

Gum in my hair: any good ways to get it out?

Desolve it! It works great. You can get it just about anywhere

Hair help for my semi?

I'm mixed black and white. I don't get my hair permed. I keep it curly, it looks kinda like I'm Dominican, tight kinky curls. My hair is somewhere between my chin and shoulders, it has layers, a couple pieces that frame my face, and sideswept kinda bangs that are a lil past my eyebrow. I HAVE NO CLUE ON HOW TO GET MY HAIR DONE OR HOW TO DO IT. I want it too look dressy and preferably up so I don't get hot. I could straighten it but then it would probably get frizzy at the dance. Suggestions? picutres? any help would be nice

here are some pics so you can kinda see my hair, the first one is old

Hair help for my semi?

You have very pretty hair. It kinda reminds me of my own. (I have naturally curly hair too). I like the curls, but you should try to soften them; kinda like the picture attached. I think this will look really cute on you. To do this, you'll probably have to blow your hair straight, follow-up with a flat iron (to smooth it out), then curl with a medium sized curling iron. If I find better directions, then I'll try to add them to my answer. Check out the picture. Hope this helps.

Why do stylists chip into the length of long fine hair? Does anyone actually want this done to her h

I have shared my bad shredded haircut story with others and have yet to hear of any woman who wanted the length of her hair disrupted by anything other than defined layers. Why has this shredded cut happened to any of us? Long haired women want shiny, bouncy, healthy hair. This cut really does just look like split ends sticking out all over head and all the little pieces just snag and break. So in addition to making hair look damaged it seems designed to actually cause damage. Why is this technique ever used on fine, longhair?

Why do stylists chip into the length of long fine hair? Does anyone actually want this done to her hair?

As a hairstylist, I am not overly fond of the razor either. It works great on some textures. If someone wants a choppier or textured look on the ends, I do it with my scissors. It still keeps the ends looking nice, not shredded.

Why do stylists chip into the length of long fine hair? Does anyone actually want this done to her hair?

I think stylists make up crappy styles to see if they will actually catch on, if anyone will actually like them, maybe they take bets.

It's like a morbid curiousity and a way to break up the monotony of "the same except shorter".

Why do stylists chip into the length of long fine hair? Does anyone actually want this done to her hair?

I hate that new look. Worse then washing and not combing which was the thing about 12 or 15 years ago.

I cut my own hair now. I say i can do a marginal haircut free as apposed to paying someone who is good one day and lousy the other 4 days of the week. I used to be a salon owner. Not a hair dresser just an owner and they don't make'm like they used to. I

like a long bang and boy they butcher iot every time. Like they are deaf when i tell them I like it long. Excuse is to get off bad ends. Ha! Bull!

Why do stylists chip into the length of long fine hair? Does anyone actually want this done to her hair?

It is a technique used to make layers blend or to add volume and texture where there is none present. Often, with straight hair, whether it's fine, medium or coarse, when a blunt or straight edged cut is used, the layers do not blend. You can see horizontal or vertical lines in the hair. Chipping is supposed to prevent that. It does not "cause damage" but hair can look choppy and uneven if the technique is done properly. If you have little pieces snagging and breaking, it's isn't the cutting technique. Fine, straight hair, by the way, is quite difficult to cut and a straight line is even more so. Hairdressers that have been doing hair for more than a minute or two should have had enough experience to know when this technique is appropriate although I work with stylists who use this technique regularly. It actually is an excellent technique when applied properly. If you have had a bad experience with it yourself, I recommend asking your stylist for a more blunt cut or cleaner edge, or perhaps finding a stylist that regularly attends continuing education classes. Hairdressers often pick up techniques by seeing them done by co-workers but without an understanding of how the technique is supposed to function the results can be less than desirable. Not all hairdressers value continuing education. I would suggest you find one that does.

Why do stylists chip into the length of long fine hair? Does anyone actually want this done to her hair?

It is a misguided attempt to give you volume. Unfortunately not all hair behaves the same.

I know exactly what you mean. I have cut my own hair since I was 12. (Norton is a Girl)

Why do stylists chip into the length of long fine hair? Does anyone actually want this done to her hair?

The razor-cut hairstyle is common and hip amongs the HOng Kong fashion teens.

Guys and girls look the same.

It is so ugly, I think that hairdressers use the razor because they are lazy and this technique seems to CUT the service TIME SHORT. I have had the razor used on my hair before, and let me tell you. My hair was not nicely layered. Instead of my hair falling in gradual layers, they were short and long in ALL THE WRONG PLACES.

Why do stylists chip into the length of long fine hair? Does anyone actually want this done to her hair?

The razor should never be used on fine hair,it makes it to thin and frayed. It doesn't create volume,it actually takes out precious volume that us fine haired girls actually need. I have read that the enemy of fine hair is weight and it needs to be taken out. That's cr-p. I've had this fine hair on my head for 36 years, I know what works and what doesn't work on my hair better then a hairdresser. Razoring fine hair looks horrible and ruins it. I don't care what any stylist says. I've had it done to my hair without my permisson and it was ruined. The ends of my hair were so fragile that they broke and my hair was so incredibly thinned out that I looked like I was going bald. I loath razor cuts.
