Help with afro hair?

I remember once reading a book: Good hair by Lonnice Bonner.

That might help you deal with your hair on a daily basis. Books, as expensive as they can be, usually are the better choice. That way, you'll always have a reference.

Personally I would suggest twisting your hair while it's wet and loosening it out--like a wet set. That can look very pretty.

Here's a website: http://www.colonnadeintl.com

Hope it helps

Help with afro hair?

I also have very curly hair which people like to describe as 'Afro' but it isn't a proper afro. :] Anyway well i usually blow dry my hair and then use my GHD straightners (but that isnt very good for your hair) so i usually use a anti frizz for curls on pantene pro v. also i find that if you just put a small or thick (dusnt matter really) headband and scrape it back!

Pantene pro v also have shampoo and conditioner for curly hair.............. Hope i helped Beth..x

Hi,

It's possible to maintain poker-straight hair using good quality straighteners (but use thermal protection products first). I use Creme Press by Keracare, you should be able to find it online. Once your hair is straight, try and stay out of the rain and avoid humidity (like steamy bathrooms!)

At night, I brush my hair back and sleep with a do-rag on my hair. This protects the hair during the night and I wake up with straight hair, even round the hairline, so I don't have to straighten it too often. Most hairdressers that cater for mixed textured hair like yours, and also Afro textured hair will recommend that you wrap your hair at night. I find it difficult but it's good for your hair and keeps it straight.

I buy magazines like Pride and Black Hair and Beauty. You can prob' get them delivered to your door, I think they're very good.

The main thing with your hair is to keep it moisturised, getting regular trims.
