It depends on what type of hair you have.

I have naturally curly (and crazy) hair.

I would have to first flat iron all of my hair, then take a curling iron and curl each section.

I don't need any more volume than I already have, but if you need volume I think you can also blow-dry your hair instead of flat-ironing it.

I got my hair dyed last year from black (my natural color) to blonde.it did not turn blonde, but a really ugly straw yellow. within one week, the stylist kept dying my hair,leaving the dye on my head for long periods of time,having me believe that if i left it longer itll change to my desired shade.unfortunately it did not happen.i felt so much pain on my scalp,a terrible burning feeling,that i asked them to rinse out the dye ASAP.it was dyed liked this for one week,about 2-3 times each visit, and about 4-5 visits within that week.i went home and i could start picking scabs off my scalp,little ones and also pieces of skin that was coming off the scalp at the hair root.so basically the piece of skin i picked off had a hole in the middle indicating where the hair grew through.there were many pieces of this,and so i went to the salon and just asked them to dye my hair back to normal which they did.i am wondering if there are any short term or long term damages to my scalp now. thanks.

Some can cause cancer.

I had terrible headaches. I saw a doctor - and maybe you should too.

My solution is to go grey gacefully (and keep my spiderman mask on).

You definitely can. I HIGHLY advise you not to do it yourself though because usually, it would turn green instead of black. I say you should get it done at a salon. When you get it done at a salon, they go through a few steps of dying your hair to get your hair black since you can't just go from blonde to black (because of the turning green thing again). It's alopecia areata. Try Nizoral shampoo, daily 2-3 days then alternate days for 2-3 times %26amp; then biweekly. She will be alright.

Hey chica! If it is the wash out kind on blonde hair, it takes a couple of good shampoos back to back before it comes out all the way. I suggest shampooing like normal, then do another shampoo session or two in the shower to make sure it comes out all the way before putting conditioner in it. This should work, don't worry! :)

Not if you are careful. My daughter is blonde and put a few streaks of blue in her hair a few weeks ago. She sectioned off her hair and rinsed the strands thoroughly. When she washed her hair the shampoo was light blue but not strong enough to dye the rest of her hair. The dye said it would last up to 6 weeks but really faded after 8 days. She has already had to touch it up.

OMG....I burned off the very front part of my hair years ago when I was about 16 and it never quite grew back.

Whatever you do, DON'T CUT IT! I can't explain why but like I said mine never grew back...it's kinda short and fuzzy in one spot and I hide it by having grown my hair out longer.

Uh, if your hair's singed, it might be a a good idea to cut it off. Go see a hairstylist and get their opinion on it.

I think even the grocery stores might even sell what is called a hair iron. It resembles a curling iron but instead both sied of where it clamps down are 2 flat pieces of metel. Drop your hair in that bad boy and instantly you will have nice shimmering (not oily) staight hair with in seconds. You can do a couple times and you will be set for the rest of the day. =)

PS. Dont iron it too much or you wil fry your hair.

No. Peroxide by itself will not bleach hair. Clorox is a good way to ruin your hair, and will not produce the color you want. Black hair is extremely difficult to get a good blonde color on. This is not something to try at home unless you want it to look like you did.

Yikes NO NO NO...simple answer because your too young to be messing with your hair color. If your hair is dark you can only go three levels up with hair color and that is about as natural as you can get. I can't tell you how many people ask me that question who have never colored their hair . I always tell them the plus and minus in the situation as it does create a commitment and that you may not like. In the end you will end up with dark hair color again if not darker.

Don't mess with chemicals on your hair that your not sure what they will do because all do something else than you would think

Hydrogen Peroxide will make your hair brittle and break. The dryness will take TLC to repair and it will take at least a year to fix the damage that has been done.

There's this dye that I used specifically for dark hair.

It's called Loreal Colour Rays and last time I checked it comes in red, fuschia, blonde, orange, and platinum. The color comes out very vibrant and is semi-perminant. It's mainly made for highlights, but depending on how long your hair is, I'm sure you could get enough to dye all of it.

I've used this stuff twice. Once I did pink highlights and once I dyed my tips red.

Or you could always go pro and bleach it, then dye it.

In a new town where a cut %26amp; highlights can run $200-$600, I finaly asked a neighbor who did her hair ?(I liked hers ) This was after a disasterous visit to the towns "best." Who on a Sat visit changed my chair at least 8 times, had 6 different people work on me (how are you supposed to handle THAT tipping arrangement?) and for a cut and highlights (he only mixed the color)kept me there for four hours. Gave me a bill for $450 And his receptionist solicited a tip for him. HE is the owner!

The next cut and highlight was just as bad. The referral. But this time he was speedy gonzalez! I chose pictures right in front of him to describe the color I wanted, a Red-Auburn. Left it on too long, Had WIDE BLOND stripes. Sent me out wet in about 25 mins. And Yep, I paid the damn $200 %26amp; tip! %26amp;yep another owner

when making an appointment at a salon specifically ask for a consultation first...bring in a few pic's and have the stylist explain what you want....don't explain to them because you may just get alot of yes.yes i understands..if they explain exactly what you want without telling them then they obviously have the ability to give that to you....then rebook appointment for your hair to be done...you don't have to pick the first person...ask for a few stylist for a consultation and you decide...you may not like any and will have to try the next salon...good luck

u should definally interview for a stylist!! u should ask them if they have any experiance, how long they have been styling peoples hair. to know who's the best at the shop, when u r there, observe the different people working there. see which ones do the best work.

Following this, I proceeded to dye it a dark brown, which though permanent, has faded now to a light natural brown and looks much better whilst also aiding in the condition of my hair.

So if I were to do it again (which I probably will knowing how often my hair changes) I would probably go straight to a darker brown. Though if this is not an option try a light brown with golden tones.... BUT NOT BEIGE OR ASH!!!

If you want to go for something all together different try a copper or a red since you already have the base of that with the orange. Colour doesn't lift colour so you can't make it lighter than it already is. You can change the shade or go darker. It is still tricky if you are using over the counter colour though. Good luck!

If you do not want weave braided into your hair then just say so. They cannot make you add hair in if you do not want to, you're paying them! i just grab a small section of hair and gather it like your gonna put it in a pony tail.Pull it forward so it makes a poof I use one hand to help guide the hair forward while the other hand to hold the section of hair and then clip it.

so there is this straightener in my mall thats supper skinny, but it works really really well. the coolest part is that it makes the most perfect spiral curls, all you have to do is wrap a piece of your hair around it like twic and run it through, and its perfect.you can also crimp your hair by moving it back and forth or something and it makes your hair really smoot and shinny, but its cost almost 200 dollars, is there anything out there thats like it yet cheaper?

Do you brush the dog regularly? It's not normal for a dog to be shedding that much if you are brushing regulary and feeding good food. Take her to the vet and find out if there is a problem with the thyroid, or something else. Or buy yourself a good vacuum.

"Chunks" of hair is not normal. Especially if you groom the dog alot. Is the dog in the house for the winter? That will throw off the natural shedding. Maybe also try a high quality feed with lamb and rice as the main ingredeint. I had a dobe do that, I got away from the discount store feed and it fixed the problm. Micha Barton usually threads the light waves. She also has side SWEPT bangs. not side bangs, but side swept so you should start with that. You don't want to over do the curly-ness, so, i suggest you can try sunsilk wavy/curly shampoo. It'll add those 'natural' looking waves. If its not enough, curl a few bits of your hair with a curler on low heat. Ive also noticed that she parts her hair slightly off the center, so you can do that as well. She has very tame hair, and the thickness is perfect. You can achieve this by using hair oils every now and then, and then washing over the weekend. Also, believe it or not, yougurt and bananas will help boost moisture and give you that settled hair without having to thin it.

Get short layers that start and the bottom of your ear lobe, then have them go down. It will look cute if you decide to curl it or whatever. I suggest that you get front bangs like Nelly Furtado, i think that your hair color would look awesome in it! But i think short layers are a definate!

but then my aunt told me to cut off a piece of my hair now so i can remember the original color because supposedly once u dye it, the original color is distorted forever.

So the hair is damaged, and will take color too much at first, then it fades out because it can't hold on to it.

never listen to "expert eddies" (know it alls) ask a hairdresser!! since i am one ill answer for you. no matter what colour you dye your hair the regrowth (the hair growing through) will always be your natural colour BUT remember that it is new hair so it hasn't had time to naturally lighten with sun,elements and age so it will appear darker. your natural hair on the ends will always be a little (or sometimes a lot) lighter than the roots,if your hair is long you can have a look at the difference in the mirror by holding the ends to your roots. no dye changes your natural colour forever.your natural hair colour can change through stages of your life sometimes such as blonde.as a blonde gets older the hair colour can darken. just remember what ever you decide your root colour will always appear darker.this is an example.

If you have light brown hair and you dye it blonde, the new hair that grows through will appear more a medium brown.

Well if you have longer hair and your wanting to try the streaks somewhere in your hair other than the bangs then i say just get some clip in extensions. You would be better with the clip in extentions. You can get them in real hair as well? As your hair is dark your hair would need to be bleached it would be a constant up keep. As the hair molecules in the dyes for pink/purples fade really quickly, better value for money with the clip in. The glue ones don't hurt but not as easy to keep as the clip in as you still need to shampoo blow dry with the glue in and think of it this way be easier to change colours without damaging your own hair

While washing my hair in the shower, I combed through it and a few branches of hair was left on thew comb.Then when I gently passed my hands along my hait, a few beanches were left on my hand.Why is this so? this happened to me about six months ago I was in the shower washing my hair. Then I felt really faint and naseaous and yes it was because of stress and fatigue. I started going to yoga classes to relax myself and anti stress classes. I also started to eat more healthy and take multivitamins. He was partly the cause of my stress, as well as being out of work and school at the time. We are back together stress free. Are you looking for a longer lasting dye?

It sounds to me like you're using a kit that contains bleach and the red color. Generally those don't last long and they do fry your hair. If you want a longer lasting red I'd check out Special Effects hairdye. That stuff lasts really long if you prebleach your hair which it sounds like you do. If you go with a darker shade and your hair is light enough (brown and lighter) you won't have to bleach your hair.

ok well, i have about shoulder length dark brown hair, my natural color is auburn, and i went about a month ago to have it died light brown, the person messed up and died it to a 2 (a shade lighter than black) i was so mad so i went to my friend, and she put this stuff on it called vanish and its mainly sulfur, wich lightened it to a light brown, orange, so she put shades on it to make it a warm brown. i HATE my hair so i went to sallys and bought extensions, and manic panic cotton candy pink dye, and 30 volume bleach. i made a coon tail, and now i want to bleach my hair. so i cut a little piece of my hair off and put in the bleach for over forty five minutes... not a thing happened???

You have a lot of semi permanent haircolor build up on your hair. Between the major build up from Shades EQ and Manic Panic, you might need to apply a color remover. Sally has Uncolor remover, you might want to try that, then recolor over top.

You have 3 - 4 layers of color on you hair. It's just the same as if you are painting a wall. 3 - 4 layers of paint doesn't remove that easily.

I would be a little hesitant to do this yourself, as you could really damage your hair. With so much product on it, already, you may just want to have a hairdresser do it, to ensure you don't break your hair off.

Although you applied bleach for 45 minutes, it could be that you need to mix up a fresh batch and reapply every 20 - 30 minutes to really remove the build up. Bleach can be left on the hair up to 90 minutes, however, it's not recommended if your hair is already damaged with so many color processes, especially with the sulfur product, be very careful.

You need to go get it done professionally. The bleach you bought may not be strong enough to strip out the manic panic. I have been a stylist for 7 yrs and I'm well aware of how bad manic panic can be and it doesn't come out easy, you may end up with some realllllly damaged hair. Don't attempt it yourself!

oh man this sounds like a mess... do not use any thing round the house, and if you want to do a "test strand" slide cut a small section of hair in an inconspicuous place on the head and buy a home bleaching kit. apply using the box directions. keep in mine if you have a previous color on hair the bleach will lift patchy and will not look all that great. also do not bleach or color hair that has been exposed to the product SUN-IN it can cause major damage to hair and or melting. it is best to let a licensed hair stylist like me do it for you... sometimes it is just worth the money .

With a pale skintone you really want the dark hair because it offers a contrast...it's the same reason why blondes are obsessed about being tan...they want contrast between their skin and their hair. Just dye it all chocolate brown and leave it alone. I'm sure it'll look beautiful! As far as experimenting with colors, I'd get the snap-in colored extensions instead of dying the hair. I was going to say static guard, but since that didnt work, try spraying it on your furniture etc, not just the coat. And if worst comes to worst, try a good lint roller, it'll get all the pet hair off at least.

This happened to me a few years back. Sometimes your body has a type of allergic/immune response that causes your hair to fall out. It can involve some or all of it. I lost a half-dollar size patch on my head. In that case it was considered alopecia areata. I had cortisone injections every week into my scalp, which hardly hurt at all, and it cleared up in a few months. I have a great had of hair now. BTW, there's no sure-fire casue for this, it just happens. Go see a dermatologist.

If you wear ball caps, that causes men to lose their hair earlier than usual. But then again, your hair could be thinning out on it's own. I don't think you are dying at least I pray not. You could be under stress that is a common symptom of stress, hair loss. You could also not be taking care of your hair. If you don't wash it weekly, make sure its moisturized, go to a professional at least once a month just regular good hair hygiene that may also be the cause, I suggest you go to a professional and let them look at your hair to specifically determine what it is and what can be done about it. I had that .it is alopecia.check it out on the net.It lasted for about a year .patches were balding.no treatment i have thick curly hair lucky me,I didn't get too worried untill it started to come out around the hairline.it all grew back by the way but it was a long process...see your doctor .there may be new treatments available..embarassing huh?

Go to the DR. Have them check your thyroid, falling out hair is one of the symptoms. They could do a blood screen to see if you are anemic too, or lacking any vital nutrients which can cause the same thing. Now I lost some of my hair when I was pregnant. Is that a possibility? I say see a Dr.
