Well Lash they tell it as the truth. Kayton laughs about it and Chubby did too before he passed away. That was one time the Singing Ranger was really "Movin On" so I have been told. I understand that Hank was none too happy about it either but Chubby being funny as he was took it all in stride and kept laughing when Hank wasn't looking.
This is the story as it is written:
The one that comes to mind to about all of us in Nashville was the time Chubby was on the Saturday night Grande Ole Opry at the Ryman auditorium in 1968. Mr. Hank Snow was proudly wearing his new hair piece but had forgotten to glue down the back half of it. The back of it was starting to separate and was sticking up slightly. Chubby noticed this just before his fiddle turnaround on "Movin' On" so as he was doing the end of his turnaround and Hank was walking back up to the microphone, he flipped Hank's toupee up off the back of his head and onto his face with the end of his fiddle bow.
