You can over condition your hair to take some of the curl out. If you are going to use a blow dryer or other heat process on the hair, it's a good idea to over condition anyway as your hair will dry out more from this and get frizzy.

Curlygirls suggests that instead of washing every night, you just rinse the hair, condition and then let it dry. Sounds a little gross to me, but my curly haired friends swear that it helps, and their hair doesn't feel dirty.

No you can't, you will ruin it or it simply will not hold the color and it will blead out all over your hair and clothes when you wear them.

Demipermanent color works by placing color pigments on and under the cuticle of the hair (as opposed to permanent which changes the formation of color pigments inside), synthetic hair do not have the layers of cuticle like natural hair and because so it will not have anywhere to hold in the color.

Manic panic has no processing chemicals, it's just a color dye, so it won't ruin your extensions but it won't color them either. Your extensions don't have the ability to absorb the color like hair does because they are synthetic and don't have the cutical layers that absorb color. It'll just wash out.

Hi, I'm currently 19/male and my hair started thinning a few months ago I'd say. Now, the way it's thinning is weird -- it's thinning all over my head, not just the crown area or the front. In addition, I still have a small forehead so nothing has receded. The hair is just very thin on the sides and top showing scalp lines when it grows big. I'm pretty sure it's not genetic as my family has quite the amount of hair.

I took a blood test and everything was fine... even TSH (which I thought would be different as I thought I had hypothyroidism). Can anyone help me? If it makes a difference, my eyebrow hairs are also very fragile and a hair piece comes out whenever I rub it. I also noticed a very dull reddish/blondish hair that was sticking out of my eyebrow! Life's not looking to good... I always have to shave my head and wear a hat now. I used to have beautiful, rich coloured silky black hair and now it's gone :(

The pattern of hair loss that you have described is not necessarily a male pattern baldness. That along with the fact to you are having thinning of the lateral margins of your eyebrow is also indicative of a thyroid problem.

Having a doctor tell you that your labs are "normal" does not necessarily make it so. Doctors that are using outdated standards of TSH from before 2002 have a wider range of "normal." That being said, a diagnosis of hypothyroidism does not need lab work to indicated. Lab analysis is not the end all be all, yet rather should be used more for confirmation for a diagnosis.

Hypothyroidism is a slow progressing disorder in many people. Thinning of the hair is often an initial sign. Why might you ask? If your body is producing low amounts of thyroid hormone, is unable to converted it to an active form, or is unable to utilize the hormone at the receptor level, your body will not be able to regulate its own metabolism in a state that is conducive to survival.

Whenever there is an issue of survival, your body will pick and choose what is most important. Obviously things like your brain and heart are more important to your survival than your hair. This is why your hair might be the first thing to suffer, and then if things progress or continue down the same road you may start to began to see other symptoms such as heart palpitations or memory loss.

Go to a Dermatologist and see if you have a skin disorder, also, perhaps you should speak to someone in the hair industry such as a beautician or barber. They have to learn about hair disorders and scalp, etc. Hope you find your answers there. And don't give up, sometimes the right person takes a while to find, you know the one with real answers to your problems. Also mention to your doctor and or ask a school nurse where you might find help. Some diseases or disorders are characteristically of the nature that you discribe. Minor disorders or injuries usually.. GL find out now. Save yourself some grief..

You buy a good quality conditioner, I chose Dove Moisturizing. Put it in your hair like you would in the shower, then put your cap on. The first couple of times your cap might slip a little during practice, but you'll get the hang on proper conditioning techniques.

I don't rinse the conditioner out after practice, but if the stuff in your hair grosses you out, then you can. My hair is definately softer after I use the conditioner.

I know that by simply soaking your hair in tap water before jumping in the pool helps keep some of the chlorine out of your hair. This is because your hair is like a sponge...if you soak your hair under the shower before jumping in the pool, then your hair will soak up less of the pool water than if you jumped in with dry hair. I have also heard that spraying a leave-in conditioner before swimming helps, but i'm not sure why.

there is two ways to prevent damage:

**the hard way**: besides using a cap, make sure to shower after practices and use a special swimmers shampoo to get ride of the chlorine. if u have blonde hair, make sure u do it EVERY time no matter what, cuz other wise ur hair will be a nasty green. and try not do over-style your hair (hair dryer, curler, straighter, etc) they can damage your hair and give u split ends, frizz, etc. ugly ugly stuff. thats pretty much all i know.

****Or you can go the easy way**** : Shave ur hair off!!!! :D

I also have dark brown, curly hair. It depends on your skin complexion. I have brown skin so I went with some brownish gold highlights on just my crown. But I didn't do the very top part of my hair, so that way when my roots started to show it wouldn't look that noticeable. I also used to have plum Burgundy high lights after awhile they started to look kind of orangy, but not in a bad way, but I think with my brown complexion, I pulled it off quite well, especially with the gold high lights. I wear my hair half up and half down all the time and I liked just having my crown highlighted, it added nice contrast to the rest of my dark brown hair underneath and added depth.

Okay, first you need to attach the false hair with sprit gum, not latex. You can build it on the actor's face using crepe hair, but since you are not experienced, I would not advise it. I suggest you go to a place that sells premade pieces of facial hair that are already ventilated on to lace. If you are in LA try Hollywood Toy or Cinema Secrets. Brush a thin layer of spirt gum on to the skin, let it get tacky, then gently lay the beard onto the gummed area. Only put the adhesive where the beard will be. Make sure you get around all the edges and use a thin layer. Too much will just make a mess and the beard won't stick well. When it comes time to remove the piece, use plenty of remover to break the adhesive bond. DON'T PULL! Be gentle. If it's still stuck, use more remover. A lace mounted piece can be cleaned in acetone and reused. Don't put acetone on the actor's face or on your hands! Wear gloves and work in a well ventilated area. Pour the acetone into a shallow glass dish that you don't use for food, put the piece lace side down in the acetone. A toothbrish helps to remove stubborn bits of spirit gum and makeup residue. Before you do any of this check with the actor and make sure that they aren't allergic to anything you are using. An excellent makeup reference is Richard Corson's "Stage Makeup."

To make it stay, without bobby pinning it, you'll have to have your hair put back in some form. Be it a full or just a partial updo. I had a tiara exactly like that at my grad last year. Your hair will have to be backcombed, and then put back for the tiara to stay put. Mine didn't move at all, even after catching it on the car roof a few times and dancing all night! I actually had to get help to take it out! Backcombing the hair works wonders! Also, dont wear it IN the bun, it'll be too far back to be seen. It should sit on the crown of your head, it is a tiara after all!

Is it too big? My synthetic piece did that and I had to tighten it by sewing the stretchy band parts by your nape. Sometimes mine does that when I'm sweaty, wearing a coat, or if it's dirty.

I'm bald and a lot of women like me. Its how you dress, act, talk with women and treat them that really counts. If you want to make them laugh then a rug will do it. Most women can recognized a piece a mile away. If your vanity is really hurting then check out transplants. Expensive but certainly more natural looking.

depends on how you're balding. i want to see a pic. most guys don't look as bad as they think they do bald as long as they keep the hair cut really short. some balding guys look all right with longer hair, mostly the ones who bald back from the temples. the worst kind of balding is the crusty the clown look, bald in the middle with hair above the ears and around the back. its still not the end of the world though. it also depends on how much hair you have left. do you have enough to adequately camouflage a hairpiece? i know a woman who works for the hair club for men and they make like these prosthetic hairpieces or something that you can swim with and shower and you don't take off for months. they're very discreet. the thing is for how long are you going to keep it up? i don't know how old you are but you might want to phase it out after a while. are you going to hide it from future girlfriends? things to think about. all in all i would say unless you look really bad bald or much older than you really are because of it, just own it and love it. because if it isn't that bad than it isn't the reason you don't have a girlfriend.

Well if you think about it, glue and hair really don't mix. Apart from the fact that it can be quite uncomfortable and itchy, removing the hairpiece can also be quite tricky. Yes, there are glue disolvers especially for hair, however it can leave your real hair quite damaged (like most hair extensions etc).

You get what you pay for, so do a bit of research and consult a professional to help you :)

Glue hair extensions are very difficult to remove if you want them removed. There cheaper then having them weaved but alot less hassle if you dont like them. Plus if you do like them they can last anything between 1-3 months

Having glue placed on the scalp isnt good for the skin or the hair. I would advice using clip in ones or weaved. Clip in ones are cheap but can be a fiddle to use %26amp;%26amp; use have to put them in and out everyday. Weaved ones can last a long time however these are alot more expensive but arent as much hassle to get rid off.

Check Sally Beauty Supply. It depends on if you want to have them professionally installed or if you want them to be removable. If you want more permanent, check out any beauty supply store. Otherwise, I suggest you find the type that clip to the crown. These are easier to install yourself and you can create a more natural look. Remember...they are not a wig. If you have VERY short hair and add long extensions it WILL look ridiculous. You will see the hair you already have. A good option is human vs. synthetic hair. Human you can curl, cut and color. Hope this helps.

They actually sell hair extention at Sally's now, thats reallt the only place I can think of that I pretty sure they have all around the US. But any hair supplie store should have them. I wear 30" extentions and I get them from a local (mostly Black) hair supplie place and they are pretty cheap.

placenta is usually a good one. you can buy it at Sally's beauty or a beauty shop. also putting raw egg on it over night... for several weeks will help. oh and jello is really good for it as well.

I do just that. I am working on my fifth ponytail. It has to be 10 inches ponytailed or braided. I found that pulling it back in a TIGHT ponytail seems to speed things up.

I've purchased at least 6 or more - probably closer to 10 different hair pieces - mainly from Sally's Beauty Supply but also from other places. I purchase the appropriate fake hair shampoo and conditioner. When I first get them they're soft and shiny but after wearing them for a little while they get "matted" underneath and forget trying to comb them out - then they frizz. The shampoo and conditioner is worthless. So as a result I get one and wear it for a couple of months maybe until it gets looking icky and then have to purchase another one --- what's up with that? Does anyone know?

Follow the care instructions on the packaging. Store them in plastic bags, separately, wrapped in a satin scarf if you can spare it.. Use mousse (for curly pieces), hair sheen spray (for straight pieces) and a soft vent brush on them. Don't expect them to last very long. Take them off as soon as you can and never sleep in them. They're made cheaply, but some of the ethnic beauty stores and online stores sell a higher quality product. Sally's gone the cheap route! The best hair out there is Remi. They make Remi Goddess, Remi is made by a co. called Sensationelle http://www.sensationnel.com/ %26lt;-- that's there site. Don't be put off by the color of the models... the hair is suitable for all women.

I have never purchased hair extentions before personally, but when I was in HS, a few of my friends got them for prom and things like that. They always went to a professional salon to get them done. That is what I would do if it's not working out for you.

Are you being too energetic when washing them? To wash them, all you need is a capful of woolite and some lukewarm water, swish around a couple times and rinse.....you shouldn't have to do this very often though....are you washing them too often????

That's awful you shouldn't have to keep spending your money on all those hair extension peices. Maybe you should get a human hair clip on in which you can wash it with regular shampoo. The problem could be the brand of the hair or the company. I don't think its you since you try to take care of it. the 'fake' hair is synthetic, and just like synthetic fabric in sweaters, will knot up after awhile (like those little balls you get on your sweater). With the ponytail rubbing along your clothes, and headrests, it'll matt up. Invest in human hair. The pony tails run about $15-20 at Sally's and will last you a long time. You can wash, condition and dry like your hair without any issues.

If you are having trouble getting your hair to stay up using just the combs, try putting your hair up using bobby pins and then just add the combs for decoration. One of the easiest ways is to tie your hair in a pony tail and then wrap it around in a bun securing with bobby pins. You can also use a "bun cover" like ballerinas use. It will give your hair a nice vintage look to complement your vintage hair accessories and will make your bun feel secure. You should be able to find pretty bun covers at any ballet supply store.

Have your hairdresser try smaller rollers and using some volumizer, back combing and spray and that should do the trick. I too am troubled with fine hair and that is what did it for me and my hair lasted all day and into the night. Good Luck and congratulations

im the opposite i have quite thick hair, i once used pantene shampoo and i know this sounds strange but it made my hair feel really fat like the hair strands had swelled or something maybe try it see if it works for you, i had to stop using it my hairs big already good luck

Hi I have thick hair and my trial wedding trial was a night mare, my hair is quite long and I wanted it to be curled and it just turned out hideous, and I the curls wouldnt even stay in. So the only way I could get my hair the way I wanted it was to buy a wig lol In the end I decided to go for an up do and I did iy myself, I did a french twist and put a fancy comb in the side of it everyone thought I had is done professionanlly.

I accpeted the fact I wasnt going to have the hair I wanted on my wedding day, I shed a few tears as even the professionals couldnt get it right I didnt know what to do, But at least if you have it up in a gorgeous style then you wont be worring all day about you hair weather it look right or if the curl has dropped this way you hair will stay put until you go to bed that night.

I use Sebastian Spritz Forte that I buy from my hairdresser it costs about 鎷?2.99. I have quite thin hair that didn't really hold any volume until I used this.

It sprays like a mist so you can either spray it and leave it or dry it with the hair dryer and a round brush for maximum effect, also you can reactivate the product by rubbing your fingers through your hair, it smells gorgeous too.

I gotten green for my Irish heritage. I got fake hair colors for fun, I don't wear them all the time.Last night I went to make a second trip to Walmart for something, and wore my purple wig. And wore it to a bar. One lady I never met told me she likes it (was middle-aged) and it was gutsy of me. When I was wearing just hairpieces, I would get complimented on them, and some people actually missed me wearing them. I like the wigs because they are longer than my natural hair.

I think it is sooo cool! Especially if you work in a corporate environment and want to let loose on your down time. I wore a dark purple and black mixed weave to the Destiny Child's concert last year-got a lot of compliments! Seriously, though-as long as you have a healthy way of attaching the hairpieces(stay away from glue), it is soo much healthier and funner for your hair than actually dying it all the time-rock on!

I went to a stylest and she said my hair was light brown, I went to the sample hair pieces and thought its more like medium brown. I have a spanish background, brown eyes, light tan skin. My husband would love to see me in blonde and I've always liked reddish myself. I'd use the no-amonia dyes. But I don't know what color a: would look better on me and b:wouldn't look soo fake. If you want to try something new without completely changing the color or it looking fake, try a few highlights. If you like those, add more highlights (or lowlights).

if you dye your hair lighter than it already is, it really damages your hair. i would go for reddish because that probably wouldn't look as fake.

I wouldn't recommend totally CHANGING your hair. Maybe add some highlights in here and there. It changes your appearance more than you might think. Just make sure that the color you would highlight your hair with isn't too obvious. It'll frame your face and bring out your natural color. It also won't damage your hair as much.

Sure try blonde! It would probably look great on you! you never know unless you try! If you don't like it, you can always dye it back! You can also try streaking it with blonde. And if you really want to get bad add an exotic color like red or purple like you see on some of the stars! I dye my hair all the time! I was born with blonde hair and had it all the way up to my first born. After my first born my hair seemed togo darker and I did not like it!!!! So I started to dye my hair! Now I love it! Maybe try a few highlights and then a pretty red on all of your hair. That way the highlights are more subtle, but will show more as the red washes out.

practice this for a few days. just to see if it works. do not use a brush or comb on your hair. hand comb while drying it upside down. style as usual - curling iron, whatever.

lightly spray it in place then, flip it, add more spray on over the underside of your hair. toss it back. inspect. add more curls, spray as needed. then, when you are done, you can try picking it if you want but flip it again and pick it from the underside.

this should make it look thicker and help you to stop losing hair, as you will not longer be pulling on it as much as you do when using brushes and combs. use lots of cream rinse to make it easy to slide your hand/pick thru.

Sorry Jen, you got the wrong particle. It is electrons which get transfered. Try this too. Run a very low stream of water from a faucet and hold the pen close, it will attract the water and deflect the stream. The water flowing through air also becomes charged.
