I need a new hair straightner...whats up with the chi? It can be rather expensive....?

I need a new straightner because i can tell mine is dying. I have very thick hair with a natural wave that is red. I like it to be pin straight or at least somewhere near that. Right now i have a ba bliss (ik its a no name) straightner. With my hair being very thick it needs to be able to reach a high temperature. My hair also gets very easily damaged. I tend to thoroughly straighten my hair (meaning every single piece) once or twice a week and then in the morning i will just touch it up. What is my best value for my money? Is the chi really worth it? Please include LINKS! I am willing to spend up to maybe $150 but that would be it...THE CHEAPER THE BETTER!!!! Also any product recomendations would be great =]]

THANKS!

I was out shopping friday and in the window of Sally Beauty products store they have a knock off I think of the Chi for $49.99 in the window. I hope this helps. Good Luck!

i found it was cheaper on folica.com

from the reviews many people say the chi breaks easily and that sedu is better.

read the reviews for yourself and decide that way.

I DO NOT LIKE THE CHI IRON...try the Paul Mitchell irons, called the smoothing iron. The work great and especially on thick hair. The chi doesnt have a temp. gage but the PM does so you can adjust the heat with them. They sell on ebay all the time for around 96-100$... I personally think that the chi irons are way over-rated. Trust me I have used them both.

Sorry, I don't have any links, but I do have suggestions. I have hair that's the thickest it gets so I use the Corioliss. They sell them at the mall carts for $100 ( just make sure u DON'T get the new version, it sucks). Also at Marshalls, I got one that is a no name for $20, and it works even better. They ship straightners to Marshalls all the time, so check there cuz they're cheap.

I invested in a CHI. I had mine for 11 months now. I love it. Best thing I ever bought. Gives me silky smooth hair everytime. Fast too, i have long hair down to the middle of my back. I purchased mine at Ulta when I had got my hair done. And just had to have it LOL. Good Luck!

I LOVE wet 2 straight! You can use it when your hair is drenched, and the steam shoots out of these neat jets as it dries and strightens at the same time. This might save you from having to do it more than once a week. +, it has 30 tempertaure settings, and heats up VERY fast.
