Geeze, these people are being rude. I completely understand..You know that cutting it out won't hurt him, but it will leave his hair un-even and I wouldn't want that either! I have a yorkie-chi mix, if giving him a bath doesn't work..while he is in the bath get some baby oil and rub it on the spot and it will de-tach the hair from his poop. Also, you asked me for name ideas in another post of mine, here are some of my fave boy names:

Jackson

Maximus (aka Max)

Romeo

Armani

Sherlock (detective like your pups)

Austin

Blakely

Preston

Dallas

Bruno

Chester

And keep in mind that yorkies don't keep the teddy bear look as they age! Their nose become longer...still adorable though! I hope this helps! Good Luck!!

Just give him a bath, and if you are worried about touching the poop, put on some latex gloves.

TAKE A TISSUE and uhmm get it off! or give him a bath with a washcloth..LOL!

no offense, but your not very wise.

That's a dingleberry! Ew! Cutting it off won't hurt the dog. You could just encourage him to drag his butt on the grass.

My dog, a yorkie, went poop and now has a little piece stuck to his hair?

When that happened to my dog I just took him out back and shot him in the bum with the hose. Clean as a whistle!

My dog, a yorkie, went poop and now has a little piece stuck to his hair?

yeah a bath would be the most effective... you dont need to cut his hair just because of something as small as that..

My dog, a yorkie, went poop and now has a little piece stuck to his hair?

definately either give him a bath or use some type of baby wipes to get it off before it gets everywhere.

My dog, a yorkie, went poop and now has a little piece stuck to his hair?

Well it would depend on how much got into his hair. Cutting it wouldn't hurt him, but it might look a bit weird. If you don't feel like cutting it, just try washing it off with a damp cloth. Good luck!

That's called a dingleberry (LOL). Just bathe the dog and it will soften and you can wash it out.

Just wet a paper towel and get it off. No need for a bath just for a tiny spot of poop!

You know you can get baby wipes and have them on hand just for this purpose. I usually get huggies baby wipes with no scent and with aloe.

wow, lady if you cant figure out how to wipe your dogs butt with a damp paper towel, you shouldnt own a dog, just take a damp paper towel, and wipe it off.

My dog, a yorkie, went poop and now has a little piece stuck to his hair?

a bath

Yes, a bath will work. If you don't want to do that, or if it's hardened, you're going to have to trash a washcloth and daub his behind in a mild warm water and soap solution. You're going to get your hands dirty so don't be squeamish about it. Baby wipes are pretty good at cleaning this type of stuff.

Good luck

Wipe it off with tiolet paper the best you can, then give him a bath. Next time he goes to the groomer ask them to shave the hair off his butt. Then you won't have to worry about him getting feces stuck to his coat.

I had a yorkie years ago, hve had various terriers since then. You need to keep the fur back there trimmed, children's sissors work well for this.

A wet paper towel helps to remove it while softening it. A couple rounds of wet paper towel, and the pup is good to...umm... go.

My dog, a yorkie, went poop and now has a little piece stuck to his hair?

OMG! You can cut it off, you can bath him, you can moisten it with a wash cloth. That is the fact of life with owning a dog!!

My dog, a yorkie, went poop and now has a little piece stuck to his hair?

Cut it off. The hair will grow back.

Try getting baby wipes in the future and have them in the powder room or something in case it happens again... sometimes both babies and dogs need to be wiped, lol. Helped a LOT with my yorkies, they never were able to figure out how to keep the dingleberries off. To prevent this, you can also keep the hair trimmed shorter than the rest of the body.

My dog, a yorkie, went poop and now has a little piece stuck to his hair?

No you dont have to cut his hair. If you go to PetSmart or PetCo they have a de-matting comb that will get the poop mats (aka. dingle berrys) I have a StBernard and He gets them alot and I have always used a de-matting comb and it works GREAT!!! Good Luck...

My dog, a yorkie, went poop and now has a little piece stuck to his hair?

try a bath.. use some warm water to soften the poop and get as much off as you can. Some shampoo and conditioner will make it easier to clean it off.

Depending on how dried it is, you may have to cut some hair to get it out. I would cut at it the same way you cut a mat, and use a brush to get it out... do this in the tub while you are bathing so you can wash it away as you go.

The best way to cut a mat, is not to actually chop it off.. but rather, cut into it, in the same direction the hair grows.. to help separate the mat... that will make it easier to comb out, but without cutting out all the hair.

UM... Get rid of the lil long hair ankle biter and get a smooth coated dog? Gotta hate the doggie dingle berries!

Seriously, though, a bath or wipes should do it... This sometimes happens to my kitty!

I second the shoot it answer.
