Is hair Cholesterol clogging my drain?

I've been using hair Cholesterol (a thick gooey like substance) in my hair..and sometimes there's pieces that would just float in the water and eventually go down the bath tub drain..well now water won't drain out at all. Do you think the Cholesterol is what clogged the drain? Is there someway I could get it out without calling a plummer? Thanks

try this....pour one cup of powdered laundry detergent down the drain, followed by one cup of bleach. after 30 minutes, pour in lots of boiling water( heat up all the pans you have with water on the stove...hot water from the shower will not be hot enough.

i can almost guarantee this will break up the clog.

Since the stuff doesn't sink, like oil, try melting it with hot water. Odds are, there's hair mixed in. Dismantle your tub drain (find pictures and instructions on sites like DIY.com), lift out the whole assembly and prepare yourself to get grossed out by long, slimy strands of hair and whatever that stuff is!

If the water doesn't go down then, plunge it a few times. If THAT doesn't work, then try a drain snake. If that doesn't work...it's plumber time!

Boil 3 or 4 large pots of water frequently and pour them down

the drain. That should help a lot. Also, don't put anything oily or gooey down your drain. Wipe greasy plates and pots with paper towels before washing them. It will save a lot of frustration and having to call a plumber.
