Straigtening hair?

hey. well the only times i've straigten my hair was with a solon stylist so i need help. i have my iron (conair infiniti) and so on but, i already tried once and my style just won't hold! it turn wavy/curly again in 2 or 3 hours. so i wanted to ask if anyone knows any good heat protectant sprays and maybe some good hairsprays. oh and if i should take my time and divide my hair into pieces. and lastly, what temperature should i use for my wavy/curly hair (the highest temperature i have is 395) THANKS SO MUCH!

Straigtening hair?

first of all, i envy your curly hair. i truly do.

i sold hair straightners at the mall, you know the people that approach you trying to sell you their hair straightners.

Well, it's a VERY good idea to divide your hair in pieces.

first seperate your hair in 2 pieces, by getting a comb and seperating your hair from ear to ear(horizontally), like a "half-up, half-down" hair do.

get a small chunk of hair, hence the word "small", and put "hair serum" in your hair, but put like half a pea size of hair serum, and make sure to distribute it evenly.

if you put too much serum, your hair will look yucky and oily.

when you put the straightner through your hair, go slowly, that you only have to use the straightner once or twice on the piece and move on.

start with the bottom half of your hair.

then move to the top section.

the straightners that I sold at the mall reached temperatures of highest 400..and we always tried that temperature on the customer's hair.

some straighterners don't need hair serum, because of the negative ion technology that's already in the hair straightner, which doesn't require the use of serum becasue the straightner is made of ceramic plates(which are usually a yellow color).

any kind of hair serum will work, just make sure to use a small small small amount.

good luck.

this used to happen to me all the time I use John Frieda Frizz ease Straight answer. long name i know, :) haha but I a couple of sprays of it and than you straighten your hair by layers of your hair. so first striaghten the underneath layer and than go up from that. usually holds for 24 hours or so

Straigtening hair?

sorry but the only help i can give you is to use it in sections of your hair. i use the highest temperature on mine it's 35 (celcius)

Straigtening hair?

yahh, i had that straightener... two words...

DOESN'T WORK!

however hard you tryy... whatever products you use... it won't affect it... PROMISE!

you have to get like a chi to start seeing results...

goood luckk!

well get some straightening serum, like bed head or herbal essence, and use that, then just straighten, you may need to go over it once or twice. usually you can use the serum before and a little after to make it hold, then use a tid-bit of hairspray and that should work. so try that, and if you're blow drying it first then use a serum, but use a round brush while you dry, and the last 5 minutes of drying use the coolest setting on your dryer, and that should do it.

Right now if its wet or very very humid outside, that can cause your hair not to stay straight.

I suggest using straightening cream, not gel, cream.

Get a cream for curly/wavy hair and apply before you straighten, that should help a bit. Use the straightening iron on a temperature about 150; that way it doesn't damage your hair. Divide your hair into small clumps when straightening for maximum straightedge.

If it doesn't~

Sorry =( Its just your type of hair love

Conair won't work unless your hair is pretty much already straight. Invest in a good straightner, like Chi.

Straigtening hair?

If you want to straighten your hair and your using an iron to do it your right it will revert right back to curly because of sweat and oils in our scalp and hair. there are several good straightening product on the market today and once you straighten your hair it will stay straight. When your hair grows the new growth will be curly so you have to do touch ups at the roots.

The best heat protectant spray is TreSemme Thermal creations for about 3- 5 dollars in retail stores. You should definitely spend time dividing your hair into pieces. I have tried doing it w/o dividing my hair and it was a mess. For hair spray I have read before to use a light hair spray not the ones that say Mega hold or something like that because they make your hair really sticky. Good Luck. :)

Straigtening hair?

you could buy products and such as the people before me suggested, but if that doesnt work as great you might not be striaghtening your hair for long enough; after all it is your first time using a straightner!; if you part it into sections and lets say because your hair is wavy/curly maybe ten minutes isnt enough even on high. try 20 minutes

i have thick hair and even with my 400 watt straightner i spend 25 minutes straightning it.

so maybe your not taking your time?

be careful though it does damage it a bit

hope this helps.(=

Straigtening hair?

You need a ceramic flat iron.

Straigtening hair?

well i have (infiniti conair) too and it works but before i use (olive moisturizing shine serum) and then i straight but you need to divide ur hair into pieces and i use

the highest tmperature that is 395 and it works . when it's straight i put a little more of the serum and if u want u can put spray but not alot.

short answer: use Mixed Chicks deep conditioner with a little of their leave-in on the ends before ironing or blowing...

long answer: If you want to work with you curls.... Mixed Chicks products will block frizz without harsh chemicals.

To use Mixed Chicks just shampoo, deep conditon, then for curls...apply their leave-in to your hair when wet and air dry.
