am a desperated girl and I need to know why all suddenly my hair is falling to pieces !! am young in my 20's n never uses mousses or sprays nothing at all...but its been so bad even my bath got filled up with hair yeeaaak! So what can it be? am I dying?

This happened to me a few years back. Sometimes your body has a type of allergic/immune response that causes your hair to fall out. It can involve some or all of it. I lost a half-dollar size patch on my head. In that case it was considered alopecia areata. I had cortisone injections every week into my scalp, which hardly hurt at all, and it cleared up in a few months. I have a great had of hair now. BTW, there's no sure-fire casue for this, it just happens. Go see a dermatologist.

I'm a guy and I started losing my hair too - talk to your dermatologist to see if he/she has any suggestions. Mousses and sprays don't really have anything to do with hair loss BTW.

If you wear ball caps, that causes men to lose their hair earlier than usual. But then again, your hair could be thinning out on it's own. Next time you go to a barber, ask him what is happening to your hair. I'm sure he can give you an explanation. Or, if you're under quite a bit of stress, try to lose the biggest stress causers. And relax your body %26amp; mind.

Have your thyroid checked. I have a condition called Graves Disease and that happened to me too. It sucks, I'm not bald or even close so dont worry. See your pcp. Hope the info helps.

I don't think you are dying at least I pray not. You could be under stress that is a common symptom of stress, hair loss. You could also not be taking care of your hair. If you don't wash it weekly, make sure its moisturized, go to a professional at least once a month just regular good hair hygiene that may also be the cause, I suggest you go to a professional and let them look at your hair to specifically determine what it is and what can be done about it. It could be medication. If you recently had anesthesia that could contribute. Being stressed can cause it, thyroid.....as you can see a lot of things can cause this. GO TO THE DOCTOR and find out what is going on. Good luck!

You need to see your doctor asap. Need some blood tests then he can determinate your condition. Sometimes happen because of the toroid.

I had that .it is alopecia.check it out on the net.It lasted for about a year .patches were balding.no treatment i have thick curly hair lucky me,I didn't get too worried untill it started to come out around the hairline.it all grew back by the way but it was a long process...see your doctor .there may be new treatments available..embarassing huh?

Go to the DR. Have them check your thyroid, falling out hair is one of the symptoms. They could do a blood screen to see if you are anemic too, or lacking any vital nutrients which can cause the same thing. Now I lost some of my hair when I was pregnant. Is that a possibility? I say see a Dr.
