Can i use perioxide to bleach my hair?

i have black hair and i always wanted streaks of brown or blonde. i would get high lights but my mom would freak out if i got it at this age. so i was wonderin if i like used perioxide or clorox to bleach jus a lil piece of my hair to see if it works. cause one of my friend use bleach nd it came out really nice. is it safe if i use a lil on a test spot?

Can i use perioxide to bleach my hair?

No. Peroxide by itself will not bleach hair. Clorox is a good way to ruin your hair, and will not produce the color you want. Black hair is extremely difficult to get a good blonde color on. This is not something to try at home unless you want it to look like you did.

You get what you pay for. Go have a good hairdresser do it. Otherwise it will look like crap and your mom will really be mad at you.

it's safe, but it could really damage your hair and dry it out. plus, the streaks would not be blond or brown, they would turn out orange because of your dark hair color.

Yikes NO NO NO...simple answer because your too young to be messing with your hair color. If your hair is dark you can only go three levels up with hair color and that is about as natural as you can get. Streaks aka highlights should only be done by a professional because that person is going to know your hair type and texture that is very important when it goes to coloring.

I can't tell you how many people ask me that question who have never colored their hair . I always tell them the plus and minus in the situation as it does create a commitment and that you may not like. In the end you will end up with dark hair color again if not darker.

Peroxide is used to activate color with other chemicals to produce a different color.

Just peroxide on hair will give it a nice dry feel and make you hair a very pretty orange gold color that you will not find flattering.

Sun in products are just some peroxide with water and react to heat. If your hair is already warmer it will warm it up more.

If it light it will lighten it up even more.

If you hair is dark it will be gold or orange.

Don't mess with chemicals on your hair that your not sure what they will do because all do something else than you would think

Good Luck

Ewww....why would you want to when there are so many products now that are specifically for the hair without damaging it. Good 'ole "Sun In" is a spray that will lighten your hair when you are out in the sun.

Hydrogen Peroxide will make your hair brittle and break. The dryness will take TLC to repair and it will take at least a year to fix the damage that has been done.

DO NOT USE HP on your hair!!!

Peroxide is actually used in combination with die in salons to bleach hair. however, those people know what they are doing, and know the right quanities to use so they do not damage hair. There are products out there that can help you get highlights, without ruining your hair - or you could ask a professional to do it for you.

If you do want to try it on your hair, try taking some cut pieces of hair that remain after you get a haircut, rather than doing it on the hair that is still attatched to your head :)

If you say your mother would not let you get highlights, she would probably not agree with using clorox either. talk to her if you really want to get highlights, explain to her maturely why you would want to do it, and if she agrees she will help you do it without ruining your hair. Your hair is like no one else's hair, so you can never rely on other people's results.

no, dear it is never safe to use something to color your hair that is not meant to be. not to mention it will make it turn yellow. my aunt did it to her eyebrows once by accident. they looked SO bad!

Can i use perioxide to bleach my hair?

NO! hair bleach and clothes bleach r 2 very different things! PERoxide and PROxide r the difference, PROxide is for the hair and that is what is mixed with hair color or hair bleach. if ur mom will freak then it sounds like she would freak more if u just did it without her permission.

nooooooooo please dont..if you really want highlights ask your mom to get ones that wash out...or they even have ones that you put on your hair like mascara
