My stylist damaged my hair...?

I went to get my hair cut 2 weeks ago maybe and when you get under certain lighting you can really see the damage.. pieces of hair are shorter and looked like it's been ripped(I don't know how else to explain it!) and has split ends on them... I don't really notice the damage except under the this certian lighting ( kinda florencent) She used this blade thing that looks like a comb. I know this is kinda stupid but is there anything I can do to get those hair that look shorter to grow and not look damaged? Like will it grow out eventually? What kind of shampoo can I use and such to make it look better? Thanks a lot for taking the time to answer this.. as silly as it may sound

What she did was texturize your hair. Basically she used that tool to take out pieces throught your hair to create a chunkier, more texturized look.- the hair you see is not damaged, just shorter than the rest. Some hair types respond to this better than others - and it can be very easy to over texturize. The only way to get rid of those little pieces is to cut your hair as short as they are. Also when hair is first cut it can take a little while to get over the "shock" and will stand up a bit more than usual. As it grows out, it should seem easier to manage. In the meantime, I suggest using styling products to help. Using a serum or creme to smooth the hair down at the end of styling is your best bet.

Also- If you really don't like this look - make sure to tell whoever cuts your hair in the future that you would not like any texturizing. It is pretty common practice now, and you're the only one who would know if it works for you.

Hope this helps!

well if you wanted your hair layered she would hve used that kind of comb because it makes your hair choppy looking...but you if didnt want that than you should go back to the salon and ask for a refund OR ask for them to fix it..you payed the money and if you aer unsatisfied they should totally fix it....

She probably used a razor. I know exactly what you're talking about when you say it looks like it's been ripped. There's not a whole lot you can do until it grows back. Try to find some smoothing lotion to put on it when you style it. You could also try a little pomade too.
