I am only 21 and my hair is slowly thinning and I need to know how to slow it down.?

My dad's side of the family almost all his brothers are bald on top. I thought that you get the balding genetics from your moms side. I mean it just started this year. When I shower and rub my hand through my hair there are maybe 3 or 4 pieces of hair, but I felt that was normal. The top side of my scalp is thinning kinda fast and I need to stop it. Some of my friends even noticed it to so how do I stop this ****?
