Do I need to dye a piece of my hair blonde, before I dye it hot pink?

if so, do I have to wait and then dye that piece hot pink, after i get a streak of blonde. ...... and will the blonde dye ruin my hair? I have brown, with jet black streaks now.... I really want a hot pink streak.... do I really have to dye it blonde first?!?!

While I don't recommend such extreme haircolors, especially if you'll eventually be entering a professional career....

...the color holds best if any other color from your hair is removed first. Your hair is going to grab the color more if it's been previously dyed or is 'dry' on the ends. Be careful and put your hair through some intense conditioning for about 3 days before you color. Then after you bleach a few streaks blonde, wait until the next day to go pink. It'll give your hair a chance to recover---too much dyeing could make your hair break off or even fall out if you over do it. Good luck!

It will not be a true hot pink unless you do it over blonde. However if your brown is not too dark you could still have pinkish, just not true hot pink. Blonde dye is called bleach and if you don't use it too often it will not ruin your hair.

Yes. Unless your brown hair is really light, you're not going to get a true hot pink color unless you eliminate the brown out of it first. Definitely if you want to replace one of your black streaks.

yeah, you're probably going to have to bleach it if you want the color to show up right. it won't RUIN your hair, but bleach does put a little damage to your hair, you can always get a nice moisturizer/damage repair conditioner at the store to help it.

Get bleach and bleach pieces of your hair then after that put hot pink and the longer you keep it in the darker it will be.
