How to straighten hair...?

I have semi-wavy hair, and a fairly good straightener, and i use it to try and straighten my hair. But it seems as if as soon as I move on to another piece of hair, the first is as wavy as when I started. How do I get my hair to stay straight? Do I have to hairspray it first? And if so, what is a good hairspray or other product to use, that won't make my hair completely stiff?

You need a good, meaning expensive, ceramic flat iron. The one I use is called Infrashine, and Chi is also a great brand. They get really hot and get the job done. It sounds like you might be using a cheap one. :o\ It would help to put a flat iron creme in first, I like to use Loreal Texture Flat Ironing Creme. Also, after I flat iron, I put a little anti-frizz shine serum on and it looks FAB.

LOL... Good luck!

Yeah you gotta apply some product to your entire head first.

My hair by your description seems exactly the same as yours! Start by spraying some protection spray over your damp hair...then blow dry it using a straightening brush...then when dry begin to straighten. This works for me and i use (shockwaves hair spray!" its great...! good luck...! x

Try blow drying your hair first, and then straightening your hair. That way it will most likely hold. If u like, u can apply a shine gel, or a finishing pomade or wax (very lightly) when you're done, and go over it one last time quickly.

Flat irons are a great way to get your hair nice and flat. By the time i'm done, my hair is always perfectly straight, and sooo shiny. People always ask me where i got it done, but i mostly do my hair myself...except for cuts and trims, or when i'm too lazy.

You can use antfrizz serum...it works really well! You can buy it at your local store, only $5! It works. But otheriwise your straightner is prolly bad! Good luck!

Try using VO5 Frizz Serum on dry hair or Tres Semme then Tres Semme Hair Spray ( just a little ) make sure your straightner is really really hot and hopefully that will work.

How to straighten hair...?

well, I have pretty wavy/frizzy hair. I have a CHI straightner which is very good...it's $100 though, but worth it! and I use Treseme styling products. If you have a frizzy problem, the Anti-Frizz secret is good. Otherwise, I use the Heat Tamer...it protects against damage. You just need to find a straightening balm that can be used with heat styling. But I absolutely LOVE the CHI. It has special plates that strighten better. Hope this helps. *I heard Garnier Fruitcis is great too*

Dry your hair in sections. Don't over dry. Use your straightner on your hair when it's still a bit damp. Leave your straightner on your hair longer so it dries it. Don't use a brush on your hair until you are finished. Good luck.

My hair is very wavy was well. What I have to do is right out of the shower, towel dry as much as possible. After it's reduced to damp, I use a big flat brush by Revlon and blow dry. I work on brushing normal through the front until dry and then work the back and sides by lifting and blowing into the brush. Even when my hair is dry, I continue to straighten as much as possible with the brush. I also hit the cool button throughout the process to help set and keep the frizz down. I spend about 10 minutes blow drying and then I use a flat iron. Work that through my hair in a brushing type motion to prevent overheating and damage. Total time is about 20 minutes.

If I'm running short on time, I use a straightener gel before blow drying and touch the ends with the flat iron only spending about 10 minutes total.

How to straighten hair...?

Don't use hairspray...that will make your hair stiff and sticky. Straighten your hair in sections; working from the bottom layer to the top layer. Straighten in small sections. The smaller the sections, the better. Make sure, your iron is on the hottest setting for the best results. Your iron may be the reason for your hair not straightening like you want it. I have the CHI and it works AMAZING to get my hair exactly like i want it. If you get impatient during the process, just stop because if your pieces get to large, the pieces you will continue to do will look sloppy and wavy.
